Easter with us...

7:30am. The door to my bedroom swings open and Connor yells! " MOMMY THE EASTER BUNNY CAME.... LOOK EGGS!!" I jump out of bed and get the video camera and get Megan out of her cage crib. Connor searches high and low at the speed of light, and while I get Megan in on some of the action I have to hold Connor back. Explain to him that Megan needs to find some eggs too. After all the eggs were found ( I think they were all found) Connor wanted to eat them, and of course keep all of them for himself. He didn't want his sister to have any. So I had to have a long talk about being greedy and how it's not nice and we need to share and blah blah blah. 11:45am off to church. Megan was very well behaved and danced and didn't fuss at all. Connor however. Well he was OK, but he could have been much better, I don't know but the older man sitting next to us probably didn't like Connor climbing all over the floor, oh well.
1:30pm we went to my in laws for "dinner". We had yummy ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn casserole and best of all home made blueberry pie! Yummy! Then the kids played with Grandma & Grandpa and mommy and daddy took a snooze on the couch.
5:30pm We come home to a house full of about 20 people who were here for dinner. The kids played and Connor's still playing.
7:11pm Megan's gone to bed.

It was a very nice day out. Sunny, warm, I wore a jean skirt and sandals and a hat too :) very Eastery. The only thing I wish I would have remembered was to take a few more pictures. Oh well.

Well that's Easter at our house today. Hope you all had a nice day!

Fourth Post

This is my fourth post today. I'm quite proud in a way, but in another way it shows you how really lame my life is. Today was so boring. I did nothing all day. Well I made dinner, which I ruined. I just should not be made allowed to cook when I'm not feeling well. I'm cranky and crampy and bitchy. Well you know the deal. So I made fish and chips for dinner, it being Good Friday and all. And the good little Catholic girl that I am I fasted today. Here is what I have eaten today. An english muffin for breakfast with Cheese Whiz, then dinner fish and chips(fries) for those of you who don't say chips. Then I had a few Ketchup chips( potato chips) for a snack then well I completly blew it and had a hotdog with my hubby while he was home on his lunch break. Oh well. He's not Catholic so there ya go. Today Connor was quite wild. More so then every other day. I think it had something to do with the fact that the sun was shining, and we were inside being boring. He's gone nutty thinking about the Easter Bunny coming tomorrow night. Megan has been clingy the last few days. Mainly towards Adam. There is just something about that girl. She's got such a personality!

Tomorrow we have decided to finally take Connor to the movies. We wanted to bring him to see the Heffalump movie but we missed it. Then this ROBOTS movie came out and we've been promising him we'd go. Well that and Adam found out that only with this movie are they showing the final (complete) trailer for Star Wars Episode III. Well luckily for us Connor is still three years old and admission is free, and as you saw in my previous post. I have a coupon for a free drink. And what was not in my purse was a buy one get one free coupon for admission. So he's been such a good boy lately and we're going to go. I hope we have a good time, and I hope the show is appropriate for him, and he enjoys it. Anyone see this movie yet? And can give me a heads up before 12:30pm tomorrow??? hmm guess I should have posted this a lot sooner. Oh well.

Blackbirds Meme~The bag! ( well it's so small, I don't know if it's considered a bag, but it's my purse. The contents... chap stick berry flavour, two bank books, a change purse, since my wallet is built into the purse I use the change purse because it works better. The kids immunization records and ID, a pack of gum, a free regular drink coupon for the movies, a calander, my cell phone and my keys.

Long hair... can't get much out of that. I do have a few layers around the sides and bottom, but most of the time it's in a pony tail.

Bad Touch

I really like THIS song. It's fun and I like to dance to it :) But my son has now been walking around singing it!!!! Good thing he's only been singing " The Discovery Channel" line!

My Baby Girl

My baby girl... she really should get her hair cut. I'm a hairdresser. I know this. But I just can't bring myself to do it.

Wahhhh

My baby girl had a doctors appointment right. Okay I can deal with that. Oh she's getting her needle too. Okay been there done that. Everything's great she weighs 22lbs 4 oz and she's 28 inches tall. Nice and healthy!
Then the doctor asks.
Do you live in an older home?
Me: Um well I think it's old. I'm not quite sure how old but yeah. Why?
Her: Well I'd like to have Megan tested for lead
Me: Why? Do you think she's sick or something, do you reallllly think she should have it done?
Her: Well we like to do it just to be safe and so on and so on.
Me: Well alright then. if you say so, and you're also telling me she should have these 3 or 4 extra vaccines they do now as well? BIG breath in... Okay.. if you say so.
Her: Well they'll probably be required by the time she's in school, and unless you're totally against it. I feel it's a good idea.
Me: Well I don't really like the thought of injecting my child with menigitis just so that she's probably covered if she gets in contact with it, but I don't want my kid to get it and get sick or die. Chicken Pox... well, all her cousins but one has had them, and unless she gets them from school. then yeah okay fine. If you say so.
Her: Okay I'll write you up the requisit and you can take it to the lab downstairs and she'll be back for her other shots another day.

Out she goes
In comes Nurse:
Okay dear, here we go.. Mom you just hold on to her tight and don't let her move.

Me: thinking in my head. Okay this if fine, I've been through this a few times now, and this is the same nurse that use to weigh me and give me my infant needles.

Her: Okay mom hold on tight to this she moved a bit, there might be a bruise.
Me: Okay. it's okay baby come to mama.
Megan looks at me that WTF!!!! look in her eyes tears rolling everywhere.

Okay lets go. So I get to the desk and ask the nurse, what's this lead test? how do they do it. She says "Oh I'd imagine a prick in the foot" Oh okay.. I can handle that I say. And what happens if it comes back positive or whatever?
Oh she says. To be honest with you. I don't know. We've never had any come back positive.

Me... thinking then why am I doing this again. Okay well, it's no big deal, a little prick on the foot that's nothing.

Okay. grab the kids and the coats and head off downstairs.

Lab Bitch: NEXT!
In we walk, all four of us. I've got my purse hanging on my shoulder, diaper bag in my hands as well as 3 coats. I'm reaching to pull the damn health card out for the girl, when she realizes I haven't quite got it out of the plastic yet. Turns and kinda bops her head and rolls her eyes. LARGE!!! I look at Adam, he looks at me. I want to get out of there. Actually I should have said, um yeah don't you see I have my hands full, and SORRY!!! if it took me less then .5 seconds to get the card for you! So that you can just swipe it and hand it back. Ooooo she made me mad.

Okay.. you go sit in there and hold her(megan) and I'll be in in a second. Yeah whatever I roll my eyes. Adam's trying to keep Connor quiet in this very small lab. It's only made up of three very tiny rooms. The first room, being the desk, the other room, a spare I guess, and this last room no bigger then the size of my closet, where they draw your blood. Okay, so I'm sitting there, holding my sweet innocent little baby. And then I ask, as the girl is fiddling with the needles. How is this done? She says.. In the arm. WHAT!!!!!! I thought NO WAY! She says to me, I"m just looking for a small enough needle. Yeah small enough my childs arm is no bigger then some of those needles. Your not serious I say out loud. Yeah she says. Here we go. She takes that nasty rubber band and wraps it around her tiny little arm, and I'm holding on to for dear life. Please baby don't move. Okay, in comes dad. He hold down her forearm, and I've got the rest of her. Who knows where Connor is during all of this. Then the screaming starts. Megans. cause we're all pinning her down and here comes the needle. THANK GOD! she got the vein on the first try. Okay dad pump her arm a bit up here while I remove this band. So Adam attempts to do so and stay out of the girls way who still had the needle in our daughters arm. NO like this she says. Okay Adam did it. Here comes more blood. NO CONNOR! don't touch the table! It's okay Connor I say, just stay right there by daddy and Megan's going to be fine. MORE blood comes out and MORE a full vile of blood they took! Two scary needles within 20 minutes of eachother. The poor baby was exhausted, let alone scared shitless! Connor didn't know what to do, he was so scared because his sister was crying so hard, and mommy daddy and some bitchlady, were huddled around his poor baby sister! Okay all done, lets get the heck out of here. Off we go to get some more tylenol, and some milk. Get home put baby Megans to bed and relax!

Day two!

Connor has a dentist appointment. We've been working really hard since his last one to make sure that cavity would stay put and not get any worse. Well no such luck, no matter how much or how well we brush his teeth, the cavity got worse. It needs to be filled. He's sitting there all smiles. Poor kid doesn't know what's in for him. So they take some x-rays, clean his teeth and he gets his prize. $50.00 bucks later we're walking home, and Connor says to me. I can't wait to see my cavity! I said no honey, you have to go back, they're going to put a needle in your mouth and fix the cavity! Head hangs down really low and he starts saying I don't want to mommy!

My poor heart!

Well that's it I know I didn't go through half of the things that VW and Jenny have just been through but that's my poor baby story.

Frustration!!!

I'm very very frustrated right now. My blog as some may have noticed got all messed up and I had to start over from scratch.

First I wanted to thank AJ for your help and your kind words tonight. I really appreciate it.

Today has been one heck of a day for me. I woke up this morning.. I think that was my first mistake! The kids were all cranky and needy. The needy part I don't mind, but I just can't handle the cranky part. Then the car issue. The brakes have been "going" on the car for quite sometime now, and yesterday when I was going to go pick up Connor from his grandparents house, they just really scared me. So we brought the car in and thankfully my mom was able to pay the bill and we'll pay her back as soon as we can find a way to wiggle some money around. Being broke really sucks! Then tonight, while making dinner, Connor decides he's really going to get under my skin. He's crying and being 3 and getting in my way. While we sit down to eat he has a fit. He won't stop crying, I do everything I can to get him to eat and finally end up sending him to his room. But the crying wouldn't stop. So it was a game of tug of war and I finally won. He ate somewhat of his dinner and that was enough for me. Then my grandfather needed my help with his computer. We all know I'm not a computer whiz and it took me what seemed like forever to get it done as best as I could. I got home at 10pm, and sat down at my own computer to see about fixing this here blog up.

then there was a whole bunch of other stuff. But I won't get into it.

I've had comments that I read a lot of blogs. Yes I do actually read every single blog on my blogroll. How with two small kids? Well in the mornings they watch tv. I blog read or write, then if there's nothing going on in the day. I stop by the comptuer and catch up. Then I'm always here at night. Plus you'll notice I check back in ALOT so as not get far behind. I'm not stalking really, I'm just trying to keep up. :)

Besides.. I've said it before I live a VERY boring life. There's not much else to do.

Happy Birthday Megan

I couldn't sleep all night. I was like a beached whale. My body ached and I was ready. I knew in advance that today would be the day. The day my baby girl was to be born. I woke up early and spent as much time as I could with Connor. I made sure he was aware of what was happening today. I got showered and dressed and made Connor breakfast and also did a lot of worrying. I was so nervous that If I had eaten anything I probably would have puked. Adam and I packed up the car and off to the hospital we go. I had a really bad cold/sinus infection. I was not happy about that. We get there and I was relieved to find my friends mom ( head nurse) to greet us. She's been like my second mom while growing up. Sure helps when you're a bundle of nerves. She prepped me, inserted the catheter, shaved anything that I missed, inserted the IV (euww I hate needles) She talked softly and assured me everything was going to be okay. I was mostly nervous about the gigantic needle they were going to insert into my spine. What if I get paralyzed, what if something goes wrong and I die. I couldn't relax. Off we go to the Operating Room. There we find more people we know. The nice student nurse that helped along with my doctors appointments, as well as my grandmothers best friends daughter. Okay I'm a bit more at ease now. Then the guy with the big needle shows up. Okay I'll go home now. Nah.. It's totally worth it. It didn't hurt that bad. Then I was frozen from the chest down. I couldn't move. It felt kinda cool. Then a swarm of doctors nurses etc appear and they finally bring Adam in. We were so excited since we didn't get to see our son being born. A few minutes later I hear suction noises. I feel like someone is pushing me and I'm gently rocking back and forth. My nose is so stuffed up and I feel like going to sleep, but I don't want to. I'm having a baby. A few seconds later I hear the crying! Tears come to my eyes and we watch as they take her to the side where we can see her better. She's crying she's beautiful. I start to feel woozy. (WARNING!! Don't continue if you have a weak stomach) I can't breathe. The room seems to be spinning. Adam I'm going to be sick. Adam I feel really weird. Uh help! I can't move how can I get sick if I can't move. I turn my head and out it comes. All over my hair... It was the strangest feeling ever. I couldn't feel my guts to make sure it wasn't going to choke me to death. Ahhhhhh relief. That nice wonderful man with the big needle oh how I love him. He gave me some medicine :) I feel good again, he even brought me some nose drops :) AHHHHHH I can breath. Hey where's my baby? They're gone to the nursery. Well I want to go to. I don't need to go to recovery, I'm fine. I really am. I can go feed my baby. Oh wait I can't move. Hm. Well Adam's a pro, he can help me. He'll hold the baby there and I can feed her. Nope I have to wait. Grrr. As I lay there in recovery I think about how wonderful it was to be a mom again. And I got to see her be born, and my goodness she's her brothers twin! born three years apart. She's perfect. Our little Megan Jean. 0-1 in no time at all!

Memories

In 1996 Adam and I were in Panama City Beach, Fla. We were on a trip with his mom and dad. It was the last time we ever had a real vacation to somewhere with beaches and palm trees etc. So what's the point of this picture? Well on March 14th 1996 which is 9 years ago today on that beach there in Panama City.... We got engaged. He got down on one knee the sun was just setting and the sounds of the waves hitting the shore were thrilling. He asked... I said yes. We use to celebrate our engagment anniversary, but since we're married now... we don't. But we came across our photos that we had put in the paper to announce our engagment. I thought it would be a nice way to say Happy 9 Years Engagement Tiger!

IT'S STILL SNOWING!!! and it's snowing hard! This is the view of the side of my house, up high of course since I don't think my neighbours would appreciate me taking pictures of their cars and so on. This was taken at 2:30pm.

Good Morning??

I woke up to Megan stading there crying to get out of her crib. Please kid just go back to sleep for another hour! wahh wahhh mummm mum mum..
No... okay... I'm up. I pick her up and walk to the livingroom, where I notice a strange lump under a blanket on the love seat. I lift up the blanket to find Connor.
Me-"what are you doing buddy"
Connor-" I'm hiding"
Me-" why?" as I lift the blanket up more, I see he's got the baby powder
Connor" because I'm scared"
Me- " Why do you have... uhhh CONNOR!!!!! WHAT DID YOU DO!!!!
Connor" I, I, I.... um... you didn't blow my nose"
Me-" You made a mess that's what! Get off the couch! {I look around to see small dots from the top of the baby powder all in a circle around the whole living room}
Me-" AAAADDDAAAMMMM!!!!
Adam-" WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT!!!!!"
Me-" Help me please?"
Adam-" some unpleasant grumble.. I JUST got to bed, what do you want me to do about it."
Me-" Clean this up, I have the baby ( who's just sitting there probably laughing inside at the mess we're all in laying there getting her bum changed)
Connor-" Sorry mommy"
Me-" why didn't you wake me up? "
Connor-" I tried mommy.. I yelled MOMMY , Mommy, MOOOOMMMYY" and you didn't get up.
Me-" so you made a mess? Why didn't you watch tv?"
Connor-" I don't know"
Adam- gets in the living room looks at the mess. GREAT! I have to get the vaccum at 7 in the flipping morning!!!

Connor finally steps away from the blanket and mess. The huge cloud of white surrounds him

Me-" MY GOD... He's breathing that all in AND he was breathing it all in under the blanket!!!"

Adam lifts the blanket and the whole room is filled with a white cloud of powder.

I take Connor in his room, change him and dust off his hair, get him dressed. While Adam is cleaning up, I'm fixing the kids their juice and milk, and making my coffee. I made it extra strong this morning! I made Connor an egg and gave it to him. I come back out with my coffee and he's put his juice in his eggs and all over the table!

Funny thing about this whole story is that this is not a big surprise, we never seem to have a GOOD MORNING around here.

I guess I do. I decorate my house, I wear green, I am going to bake a cake with green icing. It was my Great Granny's birthday, and I think about her. She would have been 85 this year. Oh and whenever I can, I try and go to bingo or play the lottery and see if me lucky Irish side can help out a bit ;) I also collect four leaf clovers, but that doesn't only happen around St. Patricks day.

What's up with Bloggers Comments?????

I have things I'd like to say to people, sure it may just be Hi how are ya? Or maybe it's a big hug, or even just my two cents... but noooooo, bloggers comments aren't working... again!

I may try and figure out how to use haloscan, but that requires more learning, and I've heard you have to pay for email notifications... hmmm. we'll see.

Sad news...

First some background...

We took Connor to Marineland awhile back. His first time ever seeing Orca whales, or any whale for that matter. He just fell in love. The whole day we were there he could have sat and watched them. It was December, it was freezing cold out, but he didn't care. He kept asking to see the Beluga whales and was so happy to see them, they played with him and spit leaves at him. He thought it was the most amazing thing. He was right. The whales seem to take a liking to him as well. Right it's cold outside, so we go to the arcade and play some games, the whole time he asked to go back out to see the Orcas. So we racked up the tickets from the arcade games, and we win him a 4 inch long rubber squeek toy Orca Whale. When the day was done, he cried cause he didn't want to go home. The minute we got through the door ( to stop the crying) we put on the movie Free Willy. Again he fell in love. He watches this movie over and over and over. At least 3 to four times a day if I'd let him. All the movies part 1, 2 and 3. He goes up to have a sleep over with his Grams, and he stacks all three videos, his Free Willy necklace, and his Free Willy toy with him, and they watch. He plays with his Orca all day long, making him swim through the air water. He bends the fin down to make him Free Willy and bends it back up to become one of the other Orcas. I must tell you, he's a very dramatic child. You have no idea, and I could be here all day telling you all the amazing cute things he does... but on with it....

Today we take a trip to Zehrs and of course this time Free Willy has to come with us. It's cold outside so he doesn't want to leave him in the car. So we let him take the toy. He places Free Willy ever so carefully in the shopping cart beside him, and holds on tight if he thinks Free Willy ( he never calls him just Willy) is going to fall. We are finished at Zehrs, and off to Walmart. First stop Potty. Cause he's doing SO well with that! and absolutely NO accidents today at all, he even woke up dry! Oh right on with it...

So he places Free Willy on the floor and realizes the floor is dirty. He goes potty. And then rushed to the sink to wash his hands. We had McDonalds for lunch and he played with his toys from there. We finish up at Walmart get into the car and Connor starts going nuts. Where's his toy? What toy? FREE WILLY!!!

UH OH!!! The tears start pouring down.. I search my pockets, I search his pockets. No Free Willy. Adam turns the car around, and we head back to Walmart. I jump out and search everywhere! I ask at the desk, I ask the people in our table, and I search the bathroom. Unfortunatly there was someone in the stall that we used. No Free Willy. I go back out to the car. Sorry Connor... he's gone. The tears. The heartbreak... He lost his best friend you'd think. So I explain to him that maybe some other little boy or girl picked it up and will take care of him. He asks if that boy or girl will bring Free Willy back to him. I tell him... no honey they don't know that he's yours and they don't know where you live. The head hangs down as low as it can go. I felt so bad for the little guy! So I tell him we'll go back to Marineland and get him a new Free Willy. The smiles and the hugs broke my heart. It's March... Marineland doesn't open until May and who knows when we'll be able to get there!!

I feel so bad for him. :( I'm going to go and check the Dollar store and see if they have an Orca whale toy. I don't think he'll mind that it's not the SAME one, as long as he has a Free Willy to play with, while he watches his favrouite movies and wears his necklace.

Then to make me feel even worse. Connor excitedly tells his cousin who's going to see Robots tomorrow, that he's going to the movies to see The Heffalump Movie. I then have to tell the kid who just lost his best friend, that we missed it and it's gone already! The head hangs down again and the pouting....

I'm such a horrible Mommy today.

Short and ...sweet?

Because I don't feel like going on and on and on.. I'll make this short

~ I have a sore hip/back/leg
~ my lips are cracked and dry
~ my hands are cracked and dry as well as the occasional bleeding
~ I found another gray hair this morning
~ my mom and I have been fighting and she's really starting to piss me off
~ Connor peed on his sisters Tigger toy
~ after posting about my refridgerator, I realized that's it really does need to be cleaned
~I don't feel like cleaning it

Okay enough complaining. You get the idea, I'm not in a very good mood.

I hear my child upstairs getting into some kind of trouble with his cousin, and it's time for the other one to wake up. Also I believe my chicken should be finished spinning on the baby george.

Lots of magnets, papers, books, gumball machine, Connor's brand new potty chart, since he filled up the other Toy Story one we had up there. Adam's schedule, a things to get list, a timer, cookbooks okay there's just too much to list. Good thing you can't see the sides of the fridge haha!

4. How old is your fridge? 20 years old! It was my great grandmothers.

I've been meaning to post this for awhile and now that I have a little time.. I thought I'd go ahead and do so.

I'm jealous of Whirligirl's daughter cause she gets to go to Florida! And I'm excited for her about the new additon that will join the family this summer. And I'm forever gratful that she introduced me to this world :)

I'm interested to know which path Mmm is taking I'm praying for his happiness.

I feel bad for Jenny because she's having a difficult time with fitted sheets. And admire her courage and her sense of humor :)

I'm happy that Jenn is helping her son in every way she knows how and that everything over there will go better for her.

Esther is apparent pretty excited about a new car with "aircon" and I am hoping her week turned out to be pretty good.

Aimee seems to be recovering well with all those beautiful gifts her friends have sent her. Makes me wish I had some more friends :)

Celti... my goodness the girl has a place in my heart. What else can I say. She's a wonderful person and has been blessed with an adorable son who is her life. I worry about her and I pray that good things will come her way... I also feel that she's reading my mind most of the time.

A.J. never fails to get me thinking. Always seems to make time to reply to his comments and he does so very sincerly. He's an amazing writer and this past "series" of his has really got me thinking. If this guy thinks such wonderful things about truly amazing people who have "left the building" so to speak I wonder what he thinks about the people who still are here. Because I often wonder what I am doing here. I know I can't write good stuff, I'm not good with expressing myself with words, and I feel dumb really most of the time I even click the publish button.

Kate often makes me laugh out loud. She's just so funny. And she's had the privilege to go through a few of the most exciting times with me as Connor first started to use the potty! haha sorry about that Kate! You were just in the wrong window at the wrong time ;)

Juner always has a fun blog to look at. She also has great kids who keep her on her toes!

Queenie has been writing some very nice story's. she sure does have a gift. Sometimes I cry, sometimes I'm scared, and somtimes I just have to smile :)

I wish I had Lisa's talents around the templates :) I always enjoy seeing her blog and also enjoy her posts. Todays post was quite funny.

Not to make this sound like A.J's blog, but I started reading Michelle's blog and not too long after she's gone. I sincerely hope that she's doing okay and will come back soon.

Is this the end of all the snow!

I sure as heck hope it is. It finally stopped snowing. We had 3 entire days/nights of non stop snow. I'm serious NON STOP! I really am itching to go out there and measure it, but I have to find some boots that go up to my knees first.
It's nice and sunny today and only -5 C. Spring will arrive sooner or later, I guess I just have to be patient. Which is kind of hard to do when you've been suffering from a cold for almost 6 weeks, and you go out to the store to buy milk, and you have to change your pants when you get home, because the bottoms of them are soaked (i'm too stubborn to wear boots) and it's kind of hard to enjoy the snow when one of your children are still too small to go out and play in it. And when the other one wants to go out to play there's noone around to watch the smaller one.

Speaking of children I hear Connor sneaking into the gumball machine! Gotta run.

This is me. I was bored. And I thought hey if Kate can do it so can I :) Plus I was having a good hair day all thanks to my new love (see previous post) Too bad my face still looks like I need about 10 hours of good sleep! I wonder if there's a magic lotion to make that all go away! ( if you thought you saw a different pic here before, you were seeing things ;) )
