3 more days

I heard from my grandparents again. The kids are fine and not crying to come home, that makes me feel a lot better. They will be home in three more days. My Uncle is going back up there and they'll come home with my Aunt and Uncle. I can't wait! I miss them so much. Then next weekend they are leaving me again over night.

The kids I've been babysitting have been great. Today we played outside in the sprinkler. They're such great kids, they listen, they don't fight, they occupy eachother's time just fine. I also got paid today which really helps because of how Adam's work pay has gone. We finally have it all sorted out, but my pay today allows for me to buy some much needed groceries!

We're also going to see The Dark Knight tonight or in the morning I guess at 12:15am. I'm just waiting now for my brother to pick me up, and Adam will meet us there. That I guess is one nice thing about Adam working 3-11pm. He can make midnight shows. lol * as if that's going to happen often* and I'm up when he gets home. All the other reasons... SUCK! oh well

What to do...

When you get a call from your grandmother who took your kids knowing full well what they're like and how they behave, especially when they are with the cousin that pretty much keeps getting them into trouble and she tells you that your kids are being bad and they are driving her crazy.

You want to jump in the car and go get them right away only you can't go pick them up because they are over 6 hours away and in the middle of absolutley nowhere. And there wouldn't be any chance you'd be able to even think you knew where you were going. And all you want to do is hold them, and be with them because you know they're not being bad. They're just not being taken care of the way only you know how.

I'm not saying they're not bad for me too, but I just know how to deal with them, They're probably bored, and I know when to divert their attention, they're probably fighting because that's what 7 and 4 year olds do. There's no mistake my grandparents know how to take care of them. But they're just old and their patience just aren't what it use to be.

Saturdays....

Suck now. Adam works now on Saturdays. That is going to take a very long time to get use to. He's had Saturdays off for 10 years! Today was fun though. I went with my mother and father in law to the Jays game in Toronto today. They lost though and the Yankees won. Still it was a lot of fun. Dad bought sausages from the vendors on the street, then I got to drive home while Mom and Dad sat in the back and watched a movie. We stopped for fish and chips (fries for those of you who don't call fries chips) on the way home. And oh man was it yummy! Now I'm home and nobody is here. The house is so quiet. I'm starting to miss the kids but have a long while to go yet. They're not expected home until about the 23rd of July. And that's because I'm thinking of going to pick them up. Then my inlaws are taking them with them to Michigan for the night.

I have another two hours before Adam gets home. I'm thinking I'll get my p.j's on and watch a movie.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. They really really did help. I'm sorry I didn't get here on Friday to let you all know what happened. But here I am now.

Thursday Adam lost his job where he was for 10 years. He called me with the news at 4:50pm he then told me that there was an interview with a guy from the other company at 5:00pm. I wished him all the best and waited. He came home and told me everything that happened. The interview wasn't so much an interview but the guy explained what the job was and asked if they were interested. Of course Adam said yes. He gave the guy his number and thanked him for the opportunity. The guy said he'd call him the next day and what would be a good time. Adam said anytime. And they were like " well don't you work tonight, what time will you be up?" Adam said you can call me at anytime my kids will have me up bright and early anyway. They kind of laughed at that. and that was it. Adam then thanked the other guy involved for all that he's done for him, giving him the chance for the night shift supervisor which he was promoted awhile back. That guy really appreciated Adam saying that to him. He came home, and we had dinner with Adam's parents. The next morning the kids left with my grandparents for their two weeks camping trip.. They were so excited. Connor was concerned for Adam, and wondered what will happen with our vacation plans. But I told him not to worry to go have fun and behave. I had to keep reminding Megan that she can not cry for us. She's too far away for mommy to just go and get her. * 6 1/2 hours away* and they left. After that Adam and I sat by the phone. Literally... just sat there and waited. No t.v. nothing. Adam looked like a ghost for two days.. Sick to his stomach and the most nervous I've ever ever seen him. I tried to comfort him and let him know that no matter what happens we will be okay.

Fortunately for us. We don't own our own house, we have very few bills and we will be okay. I didn't get that gut wrenching feeling so I just knew we were going to be fine. Finally the phone rang and it was another guy Adam worked with. He wanted to know if he had heard anything yet. Adam said no and was relieved to hear that his buddy hadn't either. At least we knew we weren't the only ones sitting and waiting. The part that was so nerve wrecking is that there was 7 guys sitting and waiting to hear from a guy who was only going to fill three positions. We knew that 4 of the guys were going to be out a job and three of them were going to get it. The guy that called Adam we knew would be one to get the job. So when he called it helped. Another hour or so went buy and the phone kept ringing. People we know calling to see if we heard anything yet. Finally it rang one more time and it was the one. Adam answered the phone and the voice on the other end was friendly, caring and excited. Adam got the job!!! He starts on Monday at 3pm. As soon as he hung up he called his buddy back and while they were talking his buddy got a beep and switched over. When he came back he told Adam that he got it the job! The position we knew he would get. Foreman. which is wonderful for them. He also told Adam who the third man hired was. We started jumping around with excitement and calling everyone we knew to let them know. Then we had to go about and do our things we wasted the day sitting waiting for the phone call.

We talked about all the questions we still have. We expressed our sadness to the few guys who didn't get the job. It's tough on them. One guy is 50 years old and has worked in the business his whole life. the other was fairly new to the company but has a wife and two kids to support. The other few are young and should be okay. They are employable people and hopefully something will come along for them. They're on their own, no kids or anything but things should work out for them.

God answered our prayers and I'm sure he'll take care of them too.

Thank you everyone... for everything.

Adam starts on Monday at 3pm. He's nervous as heck. I'll let you know how it goes.
