Spoke too soon!

Unfortunatley the fever insisted on coming back, and Connor has been scrunched up in a ball infront of the TV all morning. I just called the school and he will not be going. He isn't even upset that he'll be missing the Halloween party at school or his parade. I told him if he wanted to go trick or treating tonight he could do a few houses but to this he replied " No, I want to stay home and hand out candy"

That's when you know they're sick!

My little Pumpkins

It's the night before Halloween which means it's time to carve the pumpkins. This year Connor picked out two from his field trip. Even though he had a fever of 103.5 or 39.7 He still wanted to help. Guess he won't be going to his school party tomorrow or trick or treating if it doesn't break. Poor kid

Connor likes to scrape the guts out

Megan kept falling off the chair, and wanted to eat everything. I told Connor she'd grow pumpkins in her belly and he got scared and cried "no then we'd have to carve Megan!" I'm such a cruel mommy! ahahahaha. Well anyways... I let Megan help too.

And the finished product! (with a little help from mom and dad)

Have a safe and Happy Halloween everyone!

Daylight Savings Time

Apparently Megan didn't get the memo. She woke up at 6:30am just as I suspected she would. Of course to her it was 7:30am. I don't know what time Connor woke up because he spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It usually takes me about a week or so to adjust to the time change. How about you?

I've been Ghosted! & field trip post

I have just been Ghosted by these two! Go there to play if you'd like.

CONNOR'S FIELD TRIP!!
Now I'm sure you're all wondering how Connor's very first field trip went? Right? Well since you insist, haha. We arrive at the school a little bit early so not to miss the bus. Paranoid mom that I am. When we get there, nobody else is around. So we wait a few minutes and up pulls Connor's friend R. We wait with R and his mom and talk about how cute the two boys are in their matching coats. The bus pulls up and the teacher comes out and off we go. To a pumpkin farm. It was Connor's first time ever on a bus. He sat with one of his best friends E. We get to the farm and it's raining. Joy. So we trek out into the mud and the kids get to jump into some very lovely wet hay! *click to enlarge*

They got to go on a hay ride and into a spooky house, into a peek a boo farm and through a corn maze which as you can see was REALLY mucky! Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Then we picked out our pumpkins got on the bus where Connor fell asleep. Isn't he just too flippin cute!
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That was the end of the day. Short & sweet, a little rainy, but all in all in was a good time. When we got home. I fell right to sleep on the couch.

Me and Megan

I was going through my mom's pictures and I found this picture of me in the water I thought oh my is that me! In a bikini ahahahah! Then I thought to myself. Wow Megan really does look a lot like me. What do you think?

Show& Tell

It's Friday again. That means Blackbird wants us to Show and Tell. Today we are showing our well made beds. So here you go. However I really should let you know that I can not take any credit for this. If it were up to me the bed would never be made. Adam makes the beds not me, he also took this picture by the way! Yay for Adam for playing along! He put out my housecoat for me. Isn't that sweet?

And if you're interested you can see what our bed looked like the very first day we got it :)

Now I'm off to get ready to go to the doctor and complain about all the things that need complaining about. My back, my hip, my feet, my period, a lump here and a spot there. Have a great Friday everyone. I'll be by to visit you all once I've had a chance to watch Survivor just incase there are some spoilers out there!

Thirteen Things about Jennifer

1…. I'm very upset with my son right now because he has been hurting his sister

2. I really wish I would have won the lottery.

3. I've been really stressed out the past few months and I am not really sure why I'm letting everything bother me so much.

4. I am tired of yelling at my kids. I wish they would learn to listen to me so I wouldn't have to yell so much

5. I'm thinking of my grandfather right now who is having a procedure done in the hospital.

6. I am in search of 'nut free' recipes for christmas for Connor's class.

7. I have not seen the sun shine in 6 entire days

8. I have been wanting to get a family photo done at Sears and still have not made the appointment.

9. I often find that I am surrounded by negative people and it bothers me. Especially with Christmas so close

10. I have to rememeber to make sure Connor has some really warm clothes for tomorrows class trip to the pumpkin patch

11. I have been eating the kids candy, and feel bad about it, but then realize they will get more on Halloween.

12. I have not lost one pound because I have not REALLY tried. My mom has lost 17lbs.

13. My kids are acting up again after a 10 minute time out in their rooms, it's time to get ready for school and have some lunch. I have no clue what to make and I really would like to just go back to bed. I realize I'm grumpy and I know I'll get over it soon.

EARLIER I WROTE THIS....

Lately I find my coffee is getting stronger and stronger every morning. No matter what time I put my children to bed
(lately between 9pm and 10pm) they wake up at 7:30- 7:51am. I don't understand it. Their internal clocks are preparing for Daylight Savings time. Have been for a couple of months. They use to go to bed no later then 8:30pm and wouldn't wake up until 9am or later. But now they are going to bed later and waking up earlier. In only a few days time we will be turning our clocks back one hour, so when these brats are waking up at 7:30am it's really going to be 6:30am. I just can not handle that. They know very well that if Mommy doesn't get her sleep that she is cranky and moody and yells a lot. Adam has to work from 10pm to 6am Mondays and Thursdays... he needs more then 5 hours of sleep. That they may not understand. But if they keep this up, they will. I am use to my 6 -7 hours of sleep a night. I guess I better learn to get to bed a little earlier and nearly 2am is not acceptable.
How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

Okay enough complaining about sleep. I'm up so I'll deal with it. And I suddenly realize what a rotten day I had yesterday. It started out with much screaming and yelling. Then it was time for Connor to go to school. It was cold and rainy so we drove. Before we leave Adam fills up the coolant in the car. * the little light kept coming on* so we get to school and wait until Connor is safely inside. We get back to our car and I notice a lovely stream of green liquid rolling down the parking lot. We bring the car over to my uncle and cousin the mechanics and they kindly tell us it's the water pump and it needs to be replaced and will cost roughly $150.00 or so. Yuck. So we get a ride home and our car sits in the shop. I'm really hoping it is finished today.

Today is a special day for Connor. It's his very first Show and Tell at school. He was asked to bring something of a thanksgiving, fall or halloween theme. So he chose his Chirp Magazine that he receives in the mail each month courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa. I can't wait to hear how it goes.

Today is also a special day to one lucky Canadian who is holding the winning Lotto 649 ticket of $54,294,712.00 Could you friggen imagine waking up one day to find out all of your financial worries are over. Yeah it wasn't me.

AND I DID THIS FUN QUIZ...

I found over at Shirls... What's funny about my result is that my mom has told me that I should have been a doctor my whole life.

You Should Get a MD (Doctor of Medicine)

You're both compassionate and brilliant - a rare combination.
You were born to be a doctor.

I think this may be the longest post I've ever done. I'm too tired to check though.

Have a good Thursday everyone!

Rain rain go away!

It has been raining here for FOUR days straight. Usually I wouldn't mind so much. But you see Connor has his first field trip on Friday at a pumpkin farm. It's going to be very very muddy. So if the sun would just shine for a good day before then... I'd be very happy.

P.S. If you are using Internet Explorer and my header is a wee bit off for you. Too bad get with it and get Firefox ;) And um.. if you're using firefox and it's a little off for you.. GASP!! Let me know. Thanks

Trick or Treat

Well it was no treat I'll tell ya. It rained hard! Yesterday we took the kids to the campground. The same campground where Adam and I met. Every year the kids go trick or treating around to each camper. Rain or shine, snow or not. Well this year it rained. A lot. It just wouldn't be camping if it didn't. The kids had a ball though. Megan especially. I've never seen her so excited. I'm praying that it will NOT rain on the 31st of October so that we can do this all over again and stay dry.

You Know You're a Mother When...

I found this tonight and loved it. I've commented on the ones I've actually done/do.

How about you?

1. You count the sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make they're equal. Yes!

2. You have time to shave only one leg at a time.

3. You hide in the bathroom to be alone. Yes!

4. Your kid throws up and you catch it. Ewww Yes too many times to count!

5. Someone else's kid throws up at a party. You keep eating. ahaha yup!

6. You consider finger paints to be a controlled substance. definatley!

7. You've mastered the art of placing large quantities of pancakes and eggs on a plate without anything touching. I'm getting there!

8. Your child insists that you read "Once Upon a Potty" out loud in the lobby of Grand Central Station and you do it.

9. You cling to the high moral ground on toy weapons; your child chews his toast into the shape of a gun.

10. You hope ketchup is a vegetable, since it's the only one your child eats. Yes

11. You can't bear the thought of your son's first girlfriend. oh goodness!

12. You hate the thought of his wife even more. ahahahaha!

13. You find yourself cutting your husband's sandwiches into cute shapes. Guilty!

14. You can't bear to give away baby clothes - it's so final. Guilty again!

15. You hear your mother's voice coming out of your mouth when you say, "NOT in your good clothes!" Oh my too many times!

16. You stop criticizing the way your mother raised you. So true!

17. You donate to charities in the hope that your child won't get that disease.

18. You hire a sitter because you haven't been out with your husband in ages, then spend half the night checking on the kids. Guilty!

19. You use your own saliva to clean your child's face. Guilty again!

20. You say at least once a day, "I'm not cut out for this job", but you know you wouldn't trade it for anything. Not for ANYTHING!!

Show and Tell Friday

It's Friday again and today we are showing you our ~Medicine Cabinet~

I think if you've been visiting here for awhile you will have seen my cabinet before.

You see on the bottom shelf there from left to right. Paris perfume, a blue candle in holder, the soap that smells sooo good that Jenny sent me, another blue candle in holder and Tresor perfume.

Today I will show you the inside of the cabinet as well. How nice of me I know ;) You see I have been meaning to get some little containers to separate all the crap in the cabinet. One for me one for Adam and one for the kids but I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's a little messy.

On the top shelf you will find ( from left to right) kids bandaids, calamine lotions, razor blades, some infant tylenol, advil cold and sinus, vitamin C, tylenol extra strength, childrens tylenol, benelyn cough medicine, shaving cream more razor blades, more childrens tylenol, throat drops, birth control pills, allergy pills and cologne.

Bottom shelf. More bandaids, more tresor perfume, some omega three vitamins, equate zincoxzide cream that I've just not gotten rid of yet, some nail polish, secret deodorant, Imperial leather soap from Scotland, dristan nasal spray, medicine dropper, loves baby soft perfume( which the spray thing doesn't work I'm very mad about that) some rubbing alcohol, more nail polish, a sanitary napkin, and some tums. Some make up that I never use.

That's all there is.

Happy Friday!

Mumbles

It's how I have been feeling lately. Mumbled.

There is so much going on in my brain that I just can't make sense of it. There has been so much I wanted to do, both online and in the real world. It seems that every time I think of something to post about or that I'd like to look up online I either forget what it was or have thought of something else by them and the last idea has gotten lost. Only thing is it keeps happening and everything in my mind is getting lost. Or just pushed around anyway.

I have been visiting though. I still like to know that other people out there have got their stuff together.

Megan has been keeping me up at night. Last night it was 5:30am ( okay so it's morning then) before I even got to sleep. Then Connor comes in I think around 7am. I don't know it's all kinda mumbled.

We had Adams parents over tonight for dinner. It was a very yummy boiled dinner. My first time making it. Yummy cottage roll, potatoes, carrots and cabbage. I made some croissants and had a salad. I also made an apple crisp for dessert topped with ice cream. It was nice to have them and it's not often enough that we do. The kids sure enjoy it too.

I've been wanting to do this Thursday Thirteen all the cool kids are doing these days. But by the time I get to the computer on Thursdays it's almost Friday and well.. I'll get there sometime.

Speaking of Friday. I thought today was Friday. Saying goodbye to the kids and parents at school I said. " see ya on Monday" I'm such a dork.

There is a black and orange day at Connor's school and I can't remember when that is either. I hope we don't miss it I bought him a special Halloween shirt just for the occasion. I did remember to send in his pumpkin patch trip money though!

Tomorrow is Friday and I still don't know what the show and tell is. I also am so tired and have to get some more sleep so that hopefully these mumbles will go away.

Goodnight

More Tuesday posts.

Tuesday must be my day this week. I got to do two fun quizzes and now that Connor is at school and Adam and Megan are sleeping I get some more computer time yay me.

So things have been a little hetic around here. It seems we've not been able to keep up with house work at all. Mostly that's because Adam usually does most of the cleaning and he's been working alot, but I do my share as well and I'll just admit it, I don't feel like cleaning right now. So there. I've got many important dates to remember and the school is just adding more in there. I don't know if my brain is big enough for all of this.. heres what's coming up in
Jennifer's World!!!!

~OCTOBER~
This weekend we have the Halloween Trick-Or-Treat at our campground. Connor is so excited that he's been packing throwing every toy he owns into a bucket and doesn't want to forget a thing. What he doesn't know is that we don't plan on sleeping there. We'll see what happens. He will be a Fireman and I'm guessing we're going to have to have Megan wear Connor's dog costume that he wore two years in a row. We'll see what happens. I say that a lot don't I? Then we'll have real Halloween here too. And not to forget all the school activities we have to get set for. My life has never been this hetic!

~NOVEMBER~
Adams 32nd birthday is coming up. On that day (Nov.5th) we have a 60th anniversary party to go to for his Grandparents, and afterwards we have cousins coming for dinner/cake!

~DECEMBER~
Also yesterday we bought our Depeche Mode tickets so now you all can be jealous. We have also reserved a fancy hotel room once again with my wonderful brother the chef's discount. So on December 1st and 2nd we'll be kid free and having a blast.

We got an invitation in the mail today for a cousins wedding which is on Dec.3rd. I'm wondering if it's going to be possible that we go. It would require my mom to take December 3rd and 4th off of work. Adam and I would have to drive to Michigan either Friday night or at the crack of stupid on Saturday morning go to the wedding and drive home afterwards or sleep somewhere and drive home very early Sunday morning. I'd really like to go. I love weddings and we don't get to see that side of the family very often. We'll see what happens. That is one busy week in December. the concert on the 1st and 2nd, a wedding on the 3rd, a cousins birthday on the 4th and my brother's birthday on the 5th of December. yikes.

oh yeah and did you realize there are only 68 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

Previoulsy on Jennifer's World

I did these quizzes.

It being so close to Halloween and all.. I thought I'd do this quiz. HA! you all know I would do this anyway who am I kidding!

Monday Madness

I haven't played this in awhile! It's Monday and it's cold out. Adam is gone to get the emissions test done on the car. I am praying it passes because we are seriously out of money to get it fixed. In about an hour I have to bring both kids to the doctor. Megan is getting her Chicken Pox vaccine
(which I'm not too keen on getting but everyone I know has had the chicken pox therefore won't be able to give them to her) and Connor is getting his booster shot. So if he's not feeling the greatest after that I'm going to keep him home from school today. We'll see how it goes.

UPDATE!!!! Connor and Megan did not get the needles I had mentioned. They both got MMR ( measles mumps and rubella) Why I thought they were getting the other ones I have no clue. Connor did amazing though. Just a small cry and he sat on Daddy's knee and held on tight to Froggy ( stuffed animal frog who is his friend) yes the tears appeared in my eyes once again. Then Megan who the nurse kindly refers to as "amazon lady" it takes three adults to hold her down. I'm practically laying on her upper body and kissing her head, while Adam holds her lower leg and the nurse holds her upper leg to get the needle in. She screams like a banchee and it's over. For another month anyway. When she has to go back for the chicken pox vaccine. Connor needs one more ( the booster) in a month or so, or at least by the time he turns six.

now for Monday Madness

Friends

Yesterday we took a road trip to see our friend the birthday girl from the post below. Connor and Katya have so much fun together. They are 6 months apart in age. And they play really well together. Well that is until someone wants the toy the other is playing with, but after a few little pouts he got over it quickly enough. Megan had a great time with Holly. She kept trying to fling her from her swing. Luckily Uncle Adam came to the rescue! I'm sure when Holly is older and is able to play with Megan it will be much more fun to sit back and watch. It really does suck that they live 2 hours away. The kids get along great. Cath and I get along great yet we only manage to see each other about once every few months. I do recall however seeing them a lot more before we had kids. Funny what those little ankle biters do to ya! We shared some laughs and we shared some pizza. We even shared some clothes. Megan had gotten ice cream all over her pants and Auntie Cath to the rescue! Thank goodness she has some girls clothes hanging around. If I would have listened to Adam before we left the house I would have had Megans p.j's but whatever. I never said I was perfect!

Show and Tell Friday

It's Friday once again, and today's show and tell.... something annoying. I have so many things where do I start?

Here's Megan. No she's not that annoying but everytime I pull out the camera to take a picture of here she gives me this face and I have to keep trying to get a good picture.

This is certainly annoying. Three out of six numbers to win 20 million and all I win is $10.00. Grrrrr

This is a picture of my hip. It's annoying cause it still hurts

Now you look at this picture and think. What could be so annoying about that? Well I'll tell you. Not even three minutes before this picture was taken Megan had her hair up in a cute little pony tail and socks on her feet. She will not no matter how hard I try keep socks on her feet and her hair up. It drives me NUTS!!!!!!

So there you have it. I guess Megan is on my annoying list this week. Now because I wanted to get this done I have to hurry into the shower to get Connor to school on time.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going to visit Cath tomorrow and then Sunday we're going to probably clean the house really good. Fun

Mom

I recieved this in an email and just had to share

A woman named Emily renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. She hesitated,
uncertain how to classify herself. "What I
mean is," explained the recorder, "do you have a job, or are you just
a ......?
"Of course I have a job," snapped Emily. "I'm a Mom."

We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation... 'housewife' covers it," said the
recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same
situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career
woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding
title like, "Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar."

"What is your occupation?" she probed.

What made me say it, I do not know... The words simply popped out.

"I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human
Relations."

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she
had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most
significant words. Then I stared with wonder as
my pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

"Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your
field?"

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I
have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't), in the
laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm
working for my Masters, (the whole darned family), and already have
fourcredits, (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding
in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree)? and I often work 14 hours a
day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-
the-mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just
money."

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed
the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was
greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our
new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby), in the child-development
program, testing out a new vocal pattern. I felt I had scored a beat on
bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more
distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another Mom."

Motherhood......What a glorious career! Especially when there's a title on the
door.

Does this make grandmothers "Senior Research Associates in the field of Child
Development and Human Relations" and great-grandmothers "Executive Senior
Research Associates"? I think so!!! I also think it makes Aunts "Associate
Research Assistants".

Connor update

So we just got back from the doctor. What a friggen waste of time and $2.00 to get out of the parking lot. We get there. We wait, thankfully not very long. The doctor comes in and talks to him a bit. He's cuddled up on my lap. I tell her what the spots looked like, and go figure with all the running around I had to do to get out the door I forgot the picture. Grrr. Anyways.. she says to ignore it. It doesn't look like much. By the time I got in to see a specialist it would be gone anyway.
She says that from the looks of it now it could be eczema. Which I don't think it is. It only looks like that now cause it's dried up.
I told her about the three cold sores and she asks if he's had a cold or anything to bring on the cold sores. Yes he had a cold. Okay then. Well that's it. Nothing we can do. I thinking. Um yeah, so then what the heck is it and why does he keep getting it? I ask if it's possible if it's just cold sores. She says that it's not likely since that would be very painful. Well does it look like it doesn't hurt to you? No.

So another mystery unsolved. I think the next time he gets it I'm going to take him to the clinic as well as the doctor and hopefully someone will tell me what it is and why he's getting it. I know for sure it's not a bite, and I know it's not eczema, I know for sure it has to do with contact dermatitis {Fluid-filled bumps or blisters, tenderness and redness of the skin often occur with contact dermatitis. You may also notice oozing cracks or fissures in the reddened, irritated skin areas. Usually, these symptoms will occur only in the areas that actually came into contact with the irritant or allergen. The affected areas will probably itch and burn} So then what is it that's causing this. I have yet to determine.

Connor's eye

Okay everyone. Take a close look. Click to see a larger view! See it. The bumps under his eye. What is it? Contact dermatitis? That's what I thought it was last time he had this about 2 years ago. My poor baby has been suffering with this for the past few days. As well as his third cold sore on his lips that's three in a week. If only he'd just listen to me and NOT TOUCH it. They would go away. Now this thing on his eye. Is it possible to be just a cold sore? Now that I think of it when he was 2yrs old he had a cold sore same time he had this eye thing too. He's got a doctors appointment tomorrow. Pray with me that it will at least still be there tomorrow for the doctor to see unlike last time when the morning of the appointment the spots magically disappeared.

Show & Tell THURSDAYS!!!

Is it always going to be on Thursday? I really like Thursdays for show and tell. Anyway Blackbird asked Jenny what she wanted to see and Jenny said the thing in your kitchen you just can't live without. You see here not only one but two things. First is the microwave. It saves me a lot of time, warming up bottles, making a quick lunch etc. Besides I'm not that handy with the stove. My brother is a chef not me. Then we have the dishwasher. Actually it's probably Adam's kitchen item he can't live without since he's the one who loads and unloads it. hee hee.Clickable

New Button

Over there on my side bar... see it? Design a blog. They are two great people who really know how to design.

I've decided to put their button on my page because if it hadn't been for Lisa, I wouldn't have been able to make my own designs. She's the one who helped me out back then. Even though all the designs you see here are my own ( unless otherwise stated) I am glad to help spread the word for them.

So go visit them, and spruce up your blog a wee bit. You'll be happy you did.

I need more sleep

Connor slept at his grandparents last night after we were there for Thanksgiving dinner.
(even though thanksgiving isn't until the 10th of October)

Megan still had me up at 7:20am. Doesn't she know that in order to go to bed at 8:30pm because of the time change coming up, she must sleep in till 8:30am.

I'm tired. I wish I could be going for a nap right now, but instead I'm on my way to a babyshower.
