So Quiet

All I can hear right now is the soft hum of the computer
Birds chirping
Planes flying by
The wind blowing through the trees
The occasional car passing by
and the clacking of the keys as I type

It's very quiet. There is no kids fighting, laughing, singing, giggling, No cartoons on the TV. My mom took the kids camping last night. Which gave us an opportunity to go shopping without them. I went and got a pedicure and a manicure and am loving my "new feet" I have not had this soft of feet since I was a child! Then we went to pick up a few things at Wal Mart. While standing in the check out line, there was a lady and her son about 9 years old. He was screaming and crying, I couldn't make out what he was saying. Then he started slamming the cart into the counter and screaming. I wasn't looking, but Adam said he took the mother's debit card and whipped it at the cashier. Just when I thought I missed my kids haha. Actually my kids would never display such behaviour, and if they did they would be made to apologize to the lady, and then be taken out of the store promptly. She just stayed calm and went about paying.

Later we went to a movie.


It was very good and since we went to a 6pm show I stayed awake! The theatre was packed and full of lots of young boys of maybe 10-12 years old. But they were all very quiet and well behaved thankfully.

Now it's morning and it's quiet and I'm not sure what to do with myself. I think I'll get dressed and go finish up some weeding outside before it rains. I am also waiting to hear from the guy who's suppose to be fixing our new fridge



The freezer and the fridge door bang together when opened at the same time. Sneaky me kept the ice tray from my old fridge. And I'd like to get a shelf in the freezer. Not bad I guess for a 400.00 Fridge

Cold Feet

My feet are cold. My slippers are broken :( The stuffing came out of them today after being in the wash. This is very upsetting to me because these are the best slippers I've ever had! They have such soft lining on the bottom, not that hard sole like stuff. So I'm able to sit with my foot under my leg and not hurt my leg with that stiff stuff on the bottom of my slipper. Anyone looking to buy me a present I think these are nice :)

We got the carpets cleaned today, then Tracy came by and we went to a salad bar and got some yummy salads to have for lunch. I also picked up some cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing for dessert. We spent the afternoon out on the patio soaking up the sunshine. Yes I wear tank tops and shorts when the thermometer outside reads 62F :)

Now the sun has gone down and I'm cold. My nose and my feet in particular. There is no sign of rain in the next few days. I'm hoping that maybe Adam and I can get our dressers painted. We bought the paint last summer and never got around to it.

here we go. I need to write eight random facts/quirks/habits... about me and then tag 8 more people.

1. I can not stand it when people chew with their mouth open
2. It really irritates me when people drag their feet when they walk
3. I am generally a happier person when it's rainy and cloudy then when it's hot and sunny
4. I love exciting thrilling rides. I would do anything to go sky diving or bungee jumping
5. I like to mush my cake and ice cream together
6. I have to match my socks to my shirt... I've even passed on this obsession to my kids
7. I don't like to wear t-shirts with prints on them, same goes for socks. I like solid colours.
8. I like my french fries with ketchup, gravy, salt, pepper, and dipped in mayo

The kids are going for a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's tonight. Adam's off of work for the long weekend, and we're going to have a date night. Which will probably involve cleaning the house, and cleaning out the storage closet, or washing the carpets, Things that would be too difficult to do with the kids here, then we'll probably order subs for dinner and watch a movie, or maybe even go to a movie. We'll see how much energy we have.

My mom just called me and told me to shut her bedroom windows because it's pouring. Um... no it's sunny here. She works about 5 minutes away.

Our new fridge is doing well. I've finally gotten use to walking in the room and seeing it there. It's just bigger and brighter then my old one. I'll post pictures soon. There is a problem though, when you open the fridge door and the freezer door they bang into eachother, I called Future Shop and they're going to send someone out after the weekend to either fix it, or bring me a brand new fridge. I'd also like to find somewhere on the Roper Whirlpool site or Future Shop site for a shelf for the freezer. It's really bugging me everything being just tossed in ontop of everything in there. I'll post pictures so you'll see what I mean.

Right now.. I've gotta go upstairs and get my children. No doubt they've torn apart Connor's room. I hear crying now. Gotta run!

The poor little guy

Connor's not feeling well. He woke up this morning with a sore tummy and vomiting. That's not the sad part though. He was suppose to go to a birthday party today. A boy's party! At a water park!! That's not the sad part though either. When I called to cancel, the father informs me that EVERYONE has canceled except for one girl. They're all sick. The poor little guy! Imagine being all excited for your birthday party with all your friends and nobody shows up. I feel so bad for Connor and for his friend. Nothing I can do though, Connor has been laying around all day, as white as a ghost. I've given him some Gravol in hopes to help settle his tummy. And all he's been allowed to have is some water and right now we're trying a few animal crackers.

We were suppose to go camping this weekend too. We might still, since it's just as easy to take care of him there as it is here, and it's only 20 minutes from home, but we'll see.

It's a beautiful day today 19C or 66F the sun is shining, and I've gotta go grocery shopping. My new fridge is looking pretty empty! I'm not sure how happy I am with it. Of course I have to keep reminding myself it's a 300.00 fridge what do you expect?

I think I might go out and pick some lilacs first. :)

Busy busy

I'm not usually a very busy person. But lately that seems to be the case. Tuesday I had a "Cafe Paris" at Connor's school. The grade sevens were putting it on. We went in to a very nicely decorated gym, with all the kids dressed in black and white, on the menu were muffins, croissants, and coffee, tea and juice. Because the SK's are little, they didn't speak French to us. They could have to the parents though, it would have been nice to see how much they know!

Then Megan had her library club. Which she really enjoys. They sing songs, and read stories, and watch a movie on the wall, they do a craft, and enjoy having the adults play along as well. This week I picked up a book for Connor. It's a level one reader The Lion King Bug Stew. My friend just told me about these wonderful books. They're wonderful. And Connor brought tears to my eyes, because he read the entire book to me. With very little help.

Survivor is finished, dancing with the stars is almost finished, and American Idol too. That is a lot of TV to record and watch when the kids are finally asleep. Only problem is I've fallen asleep trying to watch them!

My grandparents came home from BC and my Nanny took one look at the hydro bill. I won't get into that here, but needless to say I had to go out and buy a new fridge. This is the one I got, and all total came to $455.00 + $56.00 delivery charge. It is even a little bigger then the one I have now! It arrives today between 12pm and 6pm. I'm very excited to have a new fridge FINALLY, but not so that I had to spend the money right now. So today I'm sitting around the house, cleaning my old fridge and waiting for my new one. I guess it's a good thing I did not get that fireplace for the patio for Mother's Day eh?

This is a long weekend here for us in Canada. Victoria Day weekend.. or better known as " May 24" Connor is off school today and Monday, and Adam is off work Saturday Sunday. Connor has a birthday party to go to on Saturday, but after that we're thinking of possibly going camping. The weather is suppose to be nice. We'll see.

I better get to work and empty that fridge!

It's Friday

I have a busy weekend coming up. My great Aunt lost her courageous battle with cancer, and so I have a funeral to attend. Connor is going for a sleep over at his grandparents and then on Saturday they're taking him to the base ball game. It's also Mother's Day this weekend. I'm really hoping that this somehow shows up at my house nicely wrapped.

I think it would be so nice to sit out on the patio by a fire. Sort of like I'm camping :) I'm going to have to call the fire department though and find out if it's legal to have fires in the backyard like that.

Right now I'm off to bring Connor to school then I have a doctors appointment. I hope you all have a good weekend, and Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there :)

Still here? Good so can someone please tell me what planet all these stupid people are coming from? What did I witness today? My next door neighbours 5 year old grandaughter walking around the yard with a bottle of Killex. At first I thought... No she can't be. It must be cleaned and filled with water. But even then I thought to myself.. how do they know it's really clean? My neighbour is in her 60's... surely she's not that stupid? oh yes she is! Tonight after dinner, I let the kids play outside for a bit. When here comes the little girl again with her bottle of Killex. She sprays a dandelion and then touches the leaf with her hand. I asked her if it was water in that bottle and she said yes, but for my own sanity I asked her to go get her grandmother for me. So the woman comes outside ( oh yes.. she was outside ALONE with a bottle of killex) and I explain to her that I saw the girl go in and get this bottle then come back out and spray it and then touch it, and I asked if she knew? She says to me. Oh yes. She knows she needs to wash her hands with soap afterward. I also explained that I saw her earlier with it between the houses and I hope she did not spray my blackberry bush. And the woman says to me. Oh no, she just sprays the dandelions.

I was shocked! How can anyone let a five year old have a bottle of POISON, let alone leave her outside alone with it! I'm so glad I was watching my kids, because they were standing RIGHT beside this girl when she had the bottle, and I called for them. I just can't believe it. People actually DO have rocks for brains!! UGH!

okay.. so this not so little guy came to visit us today
where he came from, I do not know. This is very unusual for my area. We have bees, and ant, and the odd grasshopper, we have very few butterflies, and lots of birds, but toads..... not so much.
I wonder where he wandered off to? I couldn't find him later. Hmmm now that I'm thinking of it, this dandelion was right by my blackberry bush. that little girl BETTER NOT have killed my blackberry bush. I'll be SO mad!.

I'm finally getting use to Megan's hair. I'm able to blow dry it all over to one side and it's not too noticable. And I can admit that it sorta looks kinda just a little bit cute now.
Can I just tell you how annoying my neighbours are. Yes the same ones with the dandelion killer. Her other grandchild, a teenage boy has a band, and they practice in her basement, and it is LOUD and the music SUCKS! Ugh.
You know what else is annoying.. the fact that my kitchen light buzzes. GRRRRR

6 years ago today

Was the longest most painful day of my life! It was my labour day. From 10:00am on. I wrote about this two years ago... but each year.. May 4th is an important day to me.

Has it really been SIX whole years!!! More to come tomorrow!

Oh NO she DIDN'T??

Oh yes she did!!
She cut her hair AGAIN! We were outside after a bike ride, putting our bikes away, Megan managed to get in the house before us. Took the stool out of the bathroom, put it in front of the book case. Climbed UP onto the bookcase and got my scissors, which were in a box. She's damn lucky the whole book case didn't tumble down on top of her. But she cut her hair. I good 2 inch in width chunk at the back, as well as a small chunk in the front. She then put the plastic safety cover back onto the scissors, put them back into the box and then put them on the counter. She back to us and didn't even say a word. I just noticed how even more incredibly dumb her hair looked. To say the least Adam and I freaked out.
