Look into my hand?

I found this fun palm reading quiz and I am quite surprised at the results. I think for the most part this is me, what do you think? How well do you know me?

Jennifer
Your index finger is short. This makes you a dependable team player. A position of command is not for you. But you do have a keen eye for detail. You can be impulsive; not all your moves are quite rational. Look out! Stress could get the better of you. Your index finger being longer than your ring finger points to you being realistic but aggressive at the same time. Yet, you are not able to stand your ground at times. Your sense of judgment is finely balanced. Your middle finger being longer than the adjoining fingers in length signifies an even view towards life. You are extremely organized; seldom ever do you 'come apart' in any situation. You seem to have all stages of your life worked out to the last detail, and possess an unbiased and sagacious personality. You evaluate and analyze all your actions towards achieving your goals in life and get there through sheer dedication and will power. Your ring finger does not reach the base of the nail of your middle finger. You make an excellent team player and are able to operate effectively from a blueprint. Try to use your imagination more often. Your little finger is set evenly at the base with the middle finger. The scrupulousness in your personality is your finest asset. It leads you to take rational decisions. Since your little finger is even with the first flexure line (joint) of your ring finger, you are a blunt and outspoken person. You are extremely forthright in your views and nothing discourages you from speaking the truth, unpalatable as it may be.

you are a pragmatic hand type. Being practical, all your decisions are rational and well thought over. You are extremely self-assured, levelheaded and dynamic. Consistency in approach marks the fulfillment of your ambitions. But this regimen-approach sometimes kills the fun.

You have the twilight years to cherish. You have a long life span and will live to be at least 70. You attach a lot of importance to customs and rituals. You prefer constancy and stability to change. You are deeply attached to your home.

Your head line touches your line of life. You are an extremely conservative person. All innovation is deplorable; you stick resolutely to what you learned during your 'growing up' years. Make sure you don't offend or suffocate others with your fixed ways. Your headline has a single ending. Your analysis is generally biased as your mind is closed to looking at all facets of an issue. No other individual can influence your thoughts. Your headline is medium straight. You are a highly rational individual. You are thought oriented and never act before thinking it through.

You have a mind that's constantly bubbling over with imagination and creativity, but this never mars the stable side of your personality. You like to wield power and work steadfastly to obtain it. Most of your moves are objective-driven - everything is planned for to the last detail.

You prefer stability and constancy to change. You are analytical and often can't appreciate creativity.

If you take this quiz let me know so I can get to know you a little better!

Two going on twenty

To you this may look like a mess. To me it's a keepsake for Megan's baby book. Something to show her when she's twenty.

Megan has an obsession of changing her clothes. This is the result. All the outfits she put on and took off in a day. Not even a full day, this is just the afternoon!

If she was older and was capable of folding clothes properly she would be the one that cleans it up. But since she's not then Adam and I take turns cleaning it up.

I'm almost to the point where I'm ready to put all her clothes in a bin and lock it up!

Thursday

I woke up at twenty after six this morning. I figured I would just stay up since I had to get Connor up soon anyway. He woke up shortly after. Got dressed and then started complaining of a sore tummy. Sure enough two pukes later, he was not going to school. Of course he's been fine since then but oh well. It was snowing and cold out so I didn't really want to go out anyway. So tonight I have to manage to watch Survivor AND American Idol. Fun

I found this quiz over at Dawn's blog. Not so sure about this picture.. but whatever

You are blue. You are somewhat innocent, in the fact that your genius only extends to the physical world. You have a false sense of contentness. You are usually the quiet one, the genius. Everyone can count on you to help when they have problems, but you only fall short of being able to solve your own.

What inner color are you?

Like taking off a band aid I'll make this quick

I've been so scatter brained these past few days. I've got so much on my mind, yet I've not been able to follow through on anything. Not just here on my blog, but in person as well.

I'm really starting to hate Mondays as that seems to be where it all begins. Woke up and there goes my brain all scatters... don't forget Connor's got Kindergarten Grad photos, bring Connor to doctor, make sure I've got everything to make pancakes at school so make sure I have my spatula, my mixing bowl, get a griddle, cloths, Connor's snack, does he need a drink or is he still getting milk at school, Megan's face looks dry... put lotion on it, clean the bathroom it's a mess, get in touch with Morgan about our get together plans, check in with Beth to see how she's doing, what to cook for dinner, call Kelly, call Mandy.. okay the list goes on and on} what did I actually get done... well I got Connor to school on time and picked him up. Talk with my cousin on the phone and remember Connor's got a doctors appointment. While getting the griddle I need I head off to the mall to get Megan's earrings fixed. As we're deciding what we want for lunch I realize that I forgot Connor's doctor's appointment. Look at the clock and we're already 7 minutes late and on the other side of town. Run to the car and get there a good 20 minutes late, no worries though I called and they still saw him. Everything is going great, we see my old doctor and he's as great as ever. Connor now weighs 43lbs and is 43" tall. Right where he should be. He gets his needle and a sucker and off we go. Get in the car and head to Wal Mart to get backings for Megan's earrings. Pick up another griddle. Head home. And there is the couch and that's all I could do. Sit there. Tuesday comes and the pancake making goes well, but before I left I noticed Megan's spot on her face has flared up again so I wanted to call the dermatologist, mid pancake making I get through and luckily he'll see her first thing in the morning. Get home and find my dad here, drunk, tell him to leave while I do my best to distract a very cranky tired Megan. It just pains me to no end that I can't let my kids see their grandpa and they just don't understand why.... okay that can become a whole other post. So the rest of Tuesday is spent on the couch... watching ER. Luckily for me it was Shrove Tuesday so I had an easy dinner to make, PANCAKES. Man I must have made close to 150 pancakes yesterday!

All stressed out about getting to Megan's appointment on time. I mean really 8:15am that's just nuts, but all is well. We made it and I'm happy it's nothing serious. He said that she has what he calls " Irish skin" which makes sense she's part Irish. But what he means is that it takes a long time to heal, and the redness will stay because she's so fair, that's why it never completely healed. She's got excema, and it's infected. So he hands me a shitload of medicine and sends us on our way. Turns out we got home in time to bring Connor to school and we went to McDonalds for breakfast. Got home and my mom asks me if I want to go to bingo. I haven't been to bingo in nearly a year, and I've been so stressed out that I just said yes and off I go, forgetting that my cousin was coming over. I called her and hoped she'd come at 12 when I got home. I felt horrible about it. She's being kind enough to make Megan curtains for her bedroom and bought material for it even and was coming to show me and see how it would look. I should have just stayed home. I didn't end up winning anything at bingo, but it did help me to relax a little, all I had to worry about was what number I was dabbing, not that Megan was into this or that, or Connor wanting this or that, or what I had to make for lunch, or listen to this one whine, or clean up a mess I just cleaned up. But that doesn't help the fact that I broke plans with my cousin and I feel bad about it.

I'm telling ya, scatter brain. And to make it all worse my head feels like it's going to fall off. My wrists hurt, my neck hurts and my back hurts. My legs were so achy last night I thought they were going to fall off in bed.

So what have I been doing since I've been home. Well I was really happy to see a card from Angie and I have been just sitting on the couch watching TV. I did manage to make dinner tonight and it turned out pretty good. I really wanted to call my cousin Tracy and just vent, * she's good for me that way* but now it's time for American Idol, and I'm off to the couch once again. I'm going to get to all those other things that's been on my mind just not for the next two hours or so, but then it's bedtime.

Saturday Night

It's snowing again. A LOT! It's absolutely beautiful. We spent the day watching the rest of Charmed Season 7. Why do I watch the whole thing all at once and now I have to wait forever for season 8? Oh well good thing I have a season of ER to keep me occupied.

Connor's got a split lip. He pucked heads with his sister * who by the way split her lip the other night on her bed* only thing is... Connor has kindergarten graduation photos on Monday. Lovely.

We have been invited to celebrate Vietnamese/Chinese New Year with a friend of Connors tomorrow afternoon for lunch. It will be good to get out of the house for a change. I just hope the kids remember their manners while trying new foods.

I've been so tired lately. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just don't have any energy.

Hope you're having a good weekend

Snow

Well.. I got my 12 inches of snow yesterday. Plus some. Yes this is shoveled snow, but it's up past the porch. When the driveway wasn't clear it was up to about the middle of my calf.

Too bad it's too cold today to go and play outside! -16F ( -27C) brrrrrr

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

We're snowed in here. Well not totally, but we have a heck of a lot of snow. Schools were closed today. But I had to go to the doctor this morning which by the way everythings good and I'm healthy. On the way home though I spun out and did a " 450" in the middle of the road. Fish-tailed then spun all the way around twice and ended up facing the wrong way down the one way street. Thank God nobody was around, the only car around was an ambulance heading straight for me! I managed to get into a parking lot and turn around to go the right way. I wasn't scared or nervous or freaked out at all. It was sorta fun actually, I'm just thankful nobody was around me!!

The day after yesterday

Thank you to all of you who thought of me yesterday, emailed me and left comments to show your concern.. I had a bad morning, but things did get better from there.

I got my glasses fixed * for free even* huge relief !
I got out of the house for awhile last night to go to a school meeting. And I was prepared to go home and handle bedtime with my brats. It's hard for me, to have them couped up in the house so much. The dang windchill has been hovering around the -20C (-4F) mark, which makes it too cold for them to go outside. It's hard for me, but I realize it's hard for them as well. They're bored. I get that. But I will not tolerate any more fighting. That "spot" {the place they go when they are naughty} hasn't had time to cool off lately.

But this morning was a little better. Only minimal fighting and Connor had his snowsuit on without me having to tell him a hundred times. Which I made a point to make sure he knew how very happy and proud of him I was which I followed with a hug and a kiss.

There is a snow storm coming, I'm anxiously waiting to see how much we will get. I'm hoping for 12 inches!

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I have 20 cards to make with Connor tonight as well as think up something to send along for the class party. As for what Adam and I will do. We'll probably cuddle on the couch at home and watch Charmed season 7 and have some cheese and crackers to snack on.

As for my day going better today... well... it is... but my frustrations are building with so many other things that I can't write about here... so I ask you to think of me and pray I don't blow up like an atomic bomb at someone.

My morning has not started out well.
I woke up with a sore back
my kids are not listening to me

I don't have money to buy new ones
I just spilled coffee all down my white shirt
Now I have to go yell at Connor once again to put his snow suit on
and get changed

What to do?

Capricorn (Dec 22 to Jan. 19)
Because the moon is high in your chart today, others will briefly notice you for some reason. Conversations with bosses, parents and teachers could also be significant.

That is my horoscope for today. Could it get any more accurate? Adam and I just got home from a meeting with Connor's teacher. She wanted to let me know that during show and tell, and being "special helper"[special helper gets to use the pointer and do calendar time, as well as bring the attendance to the office, lead the way in line etc] when all eyes are on him he's fine. He handles that very well. However, if he's at group play and someone doesn't want to give him a toy, or share something with him, he cries. If he's doing his work and he just can't seem to get what he wants to do done he gets upset and cries. If he doesn't get picked by the special helper to go with them to bring down attendance he gets upset. She has spoken with him about this and has told him that he can't be picked every time, and other children need to do this too, as well as Adam and I have explained this to him time and time again. Mind you, I much rather him be upset with tears rather then become aggressive. The thing is Connor is a very affectionate boy and he's very sensitive.

But what do I do now? How do I handle this situation any different then I am? I don't "baby" him. If we're at home and playing a game and he loses and cries, I let him know that he can't always win, and it's okay to lose, and "better luck next time". If he's frustrated with some task that he's trying to do, I don't do it for him, I make sure he calms down and tries again. I assure him to always try his best and if sometimes he still can't do it then it's okay to ask for help. When he was up there in front of everyone at the assembly crying, I didn't pull him aside and cuddle him, I made him stand there and get through the song. I don't think I baby him? Nobody has said that I do before.. so I'm asking now do I? Am I handling this wrong?

How do I get him to use his words when playing with his friends * other then actually telling him use your words Connor * How do I build his self confidence where his peers are concerned. He's not like this at home. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Now I have to get ready to cut a friends hair. She should be here any minute. This afternoon Connor goes to the dentist to get that dang cavity filled yet again.

Windchill Warning!! & Cable guys

No shit sherlock... of course there's a windchill warning. It's flippin -36 C outside. That's -32F!! It's twenty after seven, and I think I'm going to wait to have a shower until after I bring Connor to school so that my hair does not freeze and break off. I have to leave in an hour. Then when I get home, I have to call the dentist. Remember how I said that the dentist found a loose filling on Connor's molar. Yeah it fell out. I'm NOT happy. He just had that done in April. I canceled the appointment hoping that it would hold until his tooth fell out, guess not. Poor thing, now not only did he have to go through the whole yucky process once, he has to go through it again! And I'm not certain but I may have to pay for it.

It's Monday and while I'm glad it is because of the crappy weekend we had, I'm not so much looking forward to the week that is yet to come. I think I'd like to just crawl back into my nice warm bed.

Updated Part...

Well the cable guy showed up today to fix my internet. They called a few hours before to see if I still wanted them to come. There was no way I was going to let them off the hook this time. So he came and sure enough it wasn't just a small problem.
Here he is across the street fixing the wires. I only felt a little bit sorry for the guy being up there in the extreme cold. After he came in the house to check the connections, he realized that he had to go back out and up the pole to replace the entire cable. He said that they were at least 20 years old and the hydro company who have been working out there messed something up and tried to fix it by taping the connections. Lovely eh? So I have all new wires and should not have any more problems. If I do.. well they just better hope that I don't.
The logo on the side of the van states: "Life's just better with Cable" yeah we'll see about that!

Nice while it lasted

When I woke up this morning at 8:30am, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the clock! The kids let me sleep in. Such wonderful kids. That is until they started running and screaming and crying and fighting and well.. it was nice while it lasted. I saw the sun was shining. Great I thought.. They can go OUTSIDE to play, the blizzard has stopped and there is lots of fresh snow for them to play in. That is.... until I turned on the computer and saw what the temperature was outside. -16C with a windchill of -26 C that's -14 F... so much for that thought. Now they are stuck inside today to drive me crazy with their fighting and screaming and crying and being ..... kids.

I however might just bundle up to my eyeballs and go and snow blow the driveway! Because unlike them I know how to keep my mitts on and my scarf up around my face and my love for eating snow has long gone.

The other day I was watching them play outside. They would dive into the snow face first and then just lay there. they would lay down and just lay there and watch the snowflakes just fall from the sky. Have you ever done that? It's quite amazing.. a memory that will last forever. As I sat and I watched them, I was sent back to my own childhood, laying there in the snow watching the flakes come tumbling down onto my face.
The snow beneath me so warm which made no sense because it was snow. The joy of picking up the tiny ice crystals in my mitts and watching them just melt away one by one. They don't have the extra added joy of playing with the dog in the snow. It was so much fun throwing snow at her and watching her try and catch them in her mouth as soon as she thought she had it she'd give me this funny look like " where did it go, I saw it coming at me" while chomping away at the fluffy remains.I'm waiting for it, the time they come in and ask me to put this snowball in the freezer so they can keep it forever. My mom always use to find snowballs in the freezer and ask me.. why Jennifer? Why? Because it's snow!!!

So unless it warms up sometime this afternoon. They have to play inside today... which if you can get past the screaming and fighting.... they aren't all that bad

Snowy day

It appears that someone forgot to turn off the snow. I can barely see across the street. Unfortunatley no matter what I try I can't seem to capture what it's really like out there. It was -23C (-9 F) when I woke up this morning. It's -15C (5F) out now.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not complaining at all. I LOVE this weather.. yes I know I'm a freak ;)

Not happy at all

So my internet has went out again. I've been on the phone with them, and by the tone of my yelling voice they knew I wasn't happy. " If I wanted crappy internet service.. I'd have stayed with sympatico!" I said to the girl. Who replied "Very well said" in other words... point taken!

They're coming on Monday to see what the problem is. I also got 25.00 taken off of my bill. Thankyouverymuch, now fix my connection!

So did ya hear... it'll be an early spring... well the groundhog said so!So it's gotta be true.
