Oh no!!
Brushing Connor's teeth tonight. I decide that I'd try to pull the tooth that is just about ready to come out, out. This is just after I finished flossing his teeth and after he had a cavity filled today. Why I didn't take the floss out of my hand I don't know, but I grabbed the towel, and grabbed his wiggly tooth with it, I squeeze it and gently pull up, and sure enough the tooth comes out. I now have his tooth, the floss and the towel in my hands. I place the towel in his bloody mouth, and go to rinse off the bloody tooth, yes with the floss still in the same hand. I'm sure you know where this is going. Yes I dropped the tooth down the drain. Oh if you could have only seen the look on the poor boys face. I reassured him that the tooth fairy would still know that he lost his tooth, and would still come. I reminded him of all the kids that swallow their teeth when they lose them. But I told him we'd still try and find the tooth. So Daddy took apart the drain and luckily the tooth was still in there. Whew! that was close. Now he can go to sleep without worry, well except for the weird feeling in his mouth, that the tooth fairy will come tonight.
After I dropped his tooth in the drain, and feeling like a shit for it, I explained when we got it back that it was a very nice clean and shiny tooth that I'm sure it's going to be worth a twoonie!
