Bit of this and that....

I learned this morning of Don Knotts passing.
I always enjoyed watching him in Three's Company as well
as Andy Griffith. He was just always so funny to listen to as well as to watch.
He will be greatly missed by many I'm sure.

Today, Adam's parents came over around 12:30pm and we brought Connor to school. There was a book fair in the gym. So Grandma and Grandpa came to look around as well. I bought two books and they bought Connor one. It was nice and there were a lot to choose from, it's just too bad that they were a little pricey. Then while Connor stayed at school, we came back and watched the finale of Dancing with the Stars. I was so happy that Drew & Cheryl won!! :)
Ooops hope I didn't ruin it for you there. After that we played Euchre and the girls kicked the boys butts :) YAY!!! I don't even really know how to play that well. haha. Then Dad and Adam picked Connor up from school, we finished our game and I made dinner. Chicken with garden vegetable tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese and spaghetti, a Cesar salad, and some butterscotch caramel pudding for dessert. It was quite yummy!.

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday. I will be going to Connor's school to make pancakes for the entire school. At first I didn't know if I wanted to go, then I did, then I didn't know if I'd have someone to watch Megan. Then I did. Then I decided. I wanted to go, mainly just to be "a part of the school" and sorta put myself out there with the other parents. Make friends, show them I'm involved. Does any of that make sense to you?

See the thing is I have to be AT the school at NINE O'CLOCK in the morning!!! Yuck, I'm use to lazing around in my p.j's till at least 12 or 2pm. Sometimes I'm not even out of bed before nine. But I got the alarm set, and I'm going to go. I just hope I have time to stop by Tim Hortons first!! haha

The kids went to bed nice and early and that's where I'm off to now. Have a good night!!

OH and for Lent... I am giving up McDonalds wish me luck!
I was going to give up chocolate, but I just knew that would be just WAY too hard.

Incredible

You know what amazes me? Walking into a store Wednesday morning, the day after Valentine's Day and having Easter thrown at you. Boom there it is. All the bunnies and chocolate and the flowers and ribbons and chocolate. Mr. Munchies. Now for the next friggen 2 months I'm going to be having to look at those damn Mr.Munchies every time I need milk, or diapers, or laundry soap and keep telling myself NO JEN you can NOT have one.

If they can magically transform an entire store in one night from hearts and silly little singing monkeys to rabbits, and chocolates, and tulips that sing. Can't they wait at least until the holiday is actually close by? Now my kids see these things, they know that all this stuff is Easter stuff. They do not understand that there is still 59 days until Easter! And if you think 59 days is a long time to you.. imagine now that you are 4 years old.

Geesh!

Show & Tell

Today Blackbird wants to see something "close up". It's funny, because my Mom always says that I take my pictures too close. But sometimes I just like it that way!

like this... my brother actually took this one. It's Megan at her party after she was baptized.

Here she is all grown up. It's those cheeks and can't help it but to take close up pictures of her

Here is a picture of a mouse that Connor made at school out of clay. He claims that he had no help from anyone. Itn't it cute!! My son is very talented in the art department I tell ya. He comes up with the most wonderful projects.

This is a pot that he made. It's decorated with hearts and flowers. Ooops there's a close up of my thumb as well ;)

and here is my snack from the other night!

Have a great day!

2 posts in one!

I have always enjoyed Valentines Day. I also don't care if it is made out to be a "hallmark holiday" I enjoy it. And hey I like hallmark cards ;) And the thing that bugs me the most is people who say "valentimes day"

I have had good valentines and I have had bad ones. One year I dumped my boyfriend on Valentines day right after he gave me a lovely bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, how mean was I!! This year is Adams and my 12th Valentines Day together. There have been a few that were the worst ever, and there have been some pretty good ones. Can't expect them all to be perfect right? Well one could hope I guess.

This morning the kids and I made some cards and are waiting for Daddy to wake up. He worked all night so I'm going to do my best to keep the kids quiet. Then when he gets up we'll all give our gifts to eachother. The kids got Adam a Star Wars book ( the kind with the sounds down the side) and I got him the movie Shanghai Knights. We got the kids each a chocolate heart, and Adam had a Spider-Man balloon heart from years ago that he's going to give to them. I'll let you know what I get :)

So whether you're in love, in a relationship, by yourself, with a friend, no matter what I hope you have a VERY HAPPY

Questions Answered:

Now it's Tuesday and today is the day I answer all those crazy questions you guys asked me. Next time I should think before saying ask me anything! I must say I was quite surprised by some of the questions *cough*steve&jayleigh!* cough*

Well you asked for it, here it is.

Steve asks:
Have you ever had sex in the great outdoors? Not in a tent, out in the open? My goodness... What a way to start this off! The answer is yes.

Kate asks:
Are you ever coming to California to see me??? Are ya? Huh? Are ya gonna???
As soon as I can afford it Kate. I'm getting on that plane!

Cat asks:
(a) If I was to visit Canada, but could only go to one place (i.e. city), where would you recommend? I've heard Vancouver is amazing. (b)What do you think about people who are married but decide not to have children? (c) What's the point in getting married, agree? or disagree?
(A)Well of course I'd like you to come visit me :) I haven't traveled much in Canada ( or anywhere for that matter) I have been to New Brunswickand that's about it. But I too hear that the West is amazing. (B) I know a few people who are married and have decided not to have children.I think my brother is one of them. I feel that they really are missing out on more then I could ever explain, I also think that if the reasons are because they want to travel, and have their pretty sports cars, and go on fancy vacations and they want their big screen TV's etc that they're being pretty selfish, BUT I also think that if they know that they wouldn't be the best of parents and they live a lifestyle where the children just shouldn't be a part of in that case the child wouldn't be cared for as they should then I think it's a good idea that they are smart enough to know not to have them keeping everyone's best interests at heart. (C) Disagree.

MommaK asks:
What was the thing that got you in the most trouble as a teen? Details please

My goodness. This is a tough one, I was in trouble a lot as a teen. The worst thing I did though, that got me in the most trouble was when I was 16. I stole my mother's car for a 'joyride' and ended up hitting someone. I didn't stop and went straight home. (there was a gang of people and I was scared) A few days later I told my mom know what I did. Nothing ever came of it, the guy I believe ended up in jail some years later. I was very lucky and it's a day I will regret forever because it really did change me. For the better that is.

Sheri asks:
I can't think of a question. How lame is that? (OH looky! It's a question!!!)
Haha well at least this one's not hard to answer :)

Esther asks:
I always enjoy the graphics and colour schemes you put together on your blog. Do you have someone doing it for you or do you do it yourself? and, if you were to find out that you're pregnant would you want it to be a girl or a boy ?

Thank you Esther. I do them myself :) Even though we're not planning on any more kids. I'd really love one more of each.

Gemmak asks:
Have you ever told a bare-faced lie?

Once my mom asked me straight out.."how long have you been smoking"?, and I said to her. "I've never smoked"!!! When really that was the first day I ever even tried a cigarette. I still have no idea how she found out about that one! But later that night I did tell her the truth. If I've ever lied I've always went back and told the truth.

**giggling**Jayleigh asks:
Have you ever... in a car?

No......I don't consider it a car.

Cady asks:
What do you think keeps a marriage healthy?
That is really one of the toughest questions to answer, since marriage is harder work then I could ever explain.but I'll try
1. Communication~ If you don't communicate properly you're doomed. It's tough but you have to do it
2. Honesty~ If you're not going to be honest with your spouse you might as well head straight to divorce court.
3. Loyalty~ And I don't just mean not sleeping around. There's much more to being loyal then just that.
4. Remember to have fun.. the bills will still be there tomorrow, the dishes will eventually get done, and the tv... unplug it...I know that's not as deep as what I can get into but I'm sure you get my point?

Jenny asks:
You have unlimited money and can only buy one thing for yourself & one gift for someone else...What do you buy?
I buy liposuction surgery for myself. And I buy an incredible sized bond for my kids ( they're considered one to me) so they'd always have money.

Christie asks:
Do you ;make funny faces when you poo?

You know... I really don't think that I do.

Lisa asks:
What part of a man's body most attracts you?
His eyes. You can tell a lot about a man just by looking into his eyes.

Darth asks:
What is the perfect meal?
definitely something someone else made! I like to start off with a nice crisp flavourful salad. Then I like to eat my potatoes they can either be mashed to perfection or they must be the small round roasted kind. Seafood of any sort or a perfect steak sounds good ( medium rare) with just the right amount of seasonings. Carrots are my favourite vegetable, I like the baby carrots cooked just enough that there's still a wee crunch to them with butter and brown sugar melted on them. And never forget dessert. Pie with a really good crust and some ice cream too. It's all about the flavour... for me.

StationeryQueen asks:
Has your life turned out as you expected it to be when you were little? Why or why not?

Not at all. I expected to live in my own house with my husband and children. I expected my marriage to be a lot different then it is. I imagined my husband to be a lot different then mine is. My kids are pretty much what I expected, except I always thought that they would listen to me.

Beth asks:
If you could trade places with any one for one day, who would it be and why?
It would definitely be Adam. I want to know what goes on in that head of his, how he can see things so differently then me. I also would like for him to see what I'm really all about. What goes on in my head and how I see things. It would also be really weird to be a man for a day hahaha

Well there you have it. Did I answer everyone's question? Were you satisfied with my answer? Did I miss anyone? Woe, look who's got all the questions now!

Kids night out

Tonight my mom and I took Connor & Megan to see Curious George. I personally didn't like it very much at all. The colours they used really bothered me. The kids however enjoyed it. Connor of course was very well behaved, and Megan didn't do too bad either. This was her first time at the movies (aka Giant T.V) and don't forget she's not even two yet. She was quiet though, and she ate her popcorn and she sat in her chair for a good 5 minutes. The rest of the time she stood up to watch the movie and walked back and forth between mom and me. She stood on the booster seat they provide you with. When the movie was finished they both started saying "Bye George" Megan said bye George all the way into the car. So if your child is between the ages of 23 months and 7 ( maybe 8 depending on the child) I recommend taking them to see this movie. It is cute. I still find it crazy that you have to pay full price ($8.00) for a four year old to see a movie. Luckily Megan being under the age of two she was free. It's going to be pretty darn expensive when they're older and want to go to the show more often. Yikes.

I have the bestest of friends

And I haven't even really met her yet! Yesterday I had such a surprise. When I checked the mail. What do I find!!!!!

A belated birthday gift! One that she didn't need to send in the first place. But she's very kind and very thoughtful. And truly made my day. And she made the card herself which don't you agree is beautiful? The chocolates are gone and they sure were YUMMY! I ate them all by myself. And I love the candles they smell wonderful! I love smelly candles how did she know???

I guess you're wondering who I'm talking about eh? CLICK HERE TO SEE!!!

And wait it gets better... She had written this post here.. In the first paragraph you can see there was quite the dilemma about her Girlie.

Well Looky what I found :) I can send it back if you need it ???

Isn't she just the sweetest!!!

Show & Tell

Do not be confused, it is not Friday yet. We are playing show & tell on Thursdays now * which is actually today even though the post says Monday so that we have time to talk about Survivor on Fridays :) Are ya with me ??

This week Liz * i think* asked Blackbird to show our favourite lamp.

This lamp was made for me by my Aunt. Who also just happens to be my Godmother. I've had it since I was very very little. Maybe since I was about 4 or 5? I don't know, I've had it ever since I can remember. I think it's suppose to be some sort of Holly Hobby. I use to LOVE holly hobby and I always wanted one of those canopy things over my bed and a holly hobby room. I never did get one and now that I'm married I don't think my husband would like one too much. Hmm unless I promised him we could have a Spider- Man room after that! haha. So this is my lamp, which still works. The lamp shade on it right now is not suppose to go on there. It's just a left over one that I threw on it. The spinning wheel and the cat and yarn are a little symbolic.. My Aunt is a knitter, and has her own store and everything, so when I see the yarn I think of her. One day I will give this lamp to Megan. Well... if we ever get a place of our own so that she can have her own bedroom that is. So happy show & tell everyone! Don't forget to watch Survivor tonight. :)

I am quite surprised at some of the questions I got asked. I will answer them all on Tuesday. So if you still want to ask questions you have until then. I'm going to leave that post up there at the top to do so.

They're everywhere!

I see them at the grocery store, at the mall, on television. There's four in my family alone. I see them everywhere. First this one , then this one, then this one, and this one, this one we're hoping arrives soon. And now I just found out about THIS ONE! Go wish them some congratulations!! There's a few more in blogland as well.

Last week I thought maybe I was going to be one of them, but it turned out not to be. Which is a good thing in a way, but on the other hand... Well that's a whole other story. I know this one really would like to be one of them as well, maybe if she keeps drinking the blogging water it may just be.

In other news.... There's a storm brewing here. And much of my surrounding areas. It rained all. day. long. yesterday and then the wind kept me up all. night.long. This morning I was rudely awoken by the sound of Connor screaming at the top of his lungs calling MOMMY!!! from the living room. The TV wasn't on the right channel. It was 7:00am!! I yelled back, what are you doing up anyway!! Which woke up Megan and then we had to get up. I looked outside and the snow started to fall fly and the wind keeps blowing. And now my daughter just took all her clothing off and is running into the other room. That kid is so not funny

Have a wonderful day everyone oh and I have been experimenting with THIS!!!

This is where you come in....

I need your help. *funny, when I typed that all I could hear was Dora the Explorer saying that* I know I need THAT kind of help too, but that's not what my current problem is. I am having another sort of problem that I'm not quite sure how to handle. Adam and I have talked about it and we don't know what to do. We've talked to his mom about it and she doesn't know what to do either. Okay okay on with the problem already. Well it's not so much a problem as it's a dilemma I guess.

Here's the deal

Connor is 4 years old almost 5. He is the oldest, he's become quite custom to his "routines" One of them being sleepovers at Grandma & Grandpa's (Adams mom & dad) house. We pack up his p.j's his toothbrush, his toothpaste, medicine if needed and never forget Froggy... Grandma and Grandpa come over and pick him up and they go off. They play games, go to McDonalds and if it's warm outside the petting zoo. He has his own special bed ( mattress on the floor) and they have a great time. He's done this for almost a year and a half or two.

The "problem" now is Megan. She's going to be 2 next month *I know... Don't get me started on that now...* She's very aware of what's going on. She cries and cries when he leaves. Cause she doesn't get to go out the door with them too. I know she probably doesn't know where they are or what they are doing... But she knows. When we go to visit Grandma & Grandpa she throws a tantrum when it's time to go home. She kicks and screams and cries and falls limp so we have a heck of a time getting her coat on. Yeah she's one of THOSE types of kids.

So my mom just took Connor to the movies to see Nanny McPhee. Grams * my mom* and Connor have always had special movie nights which include Megan at home until she has to go to bed. We live with my mom so it's a little different then it is with Adams parents. My mom does things with Megan by her self as well. So tonight when my mom and Connor went out, she (Megan) cried and kicked and cried, she threw her coat on and cried "go" What she doesn't know is that she will go next time when they go to see Curious George. But she was upset that her big brother got to go out with Grams and she didn't.

This is where you come in. What do I do about this?

I can't very well really make her realize that she will get her share of time with grandparents when she's older. I can't stop Connor from going cause that's not fair either. For the sleepovers.. Grandma asked if we wanted her to take Megan too. Well even though that would be nice. Megan does not sleep through the night every night. She doesn't like to sleep in her playpen and is much more comfortable at home. I could send her she could have a great time and keep Grandma and Grandpa awake all hours of the night but we don't really want to put them through that. I'm not too worried about the whole thing with my mom, cause Megan gets her fair share of time without Connor.

Have I rambled enough? I'm sure you've all been there done that. Now tell me what do you think we should do?

HAPPY GROUNDHOG'S DAY

The results are in

Wiarton Willie, Canada's best-known four-legged forecaster, is predicting an early end to a winter many Canadians are still waiting to see.The pudgy white woodchuck failed to see his shadow on Groundhog Day in the central Ontario town. Shubenacadie Sam, Nova Scotia's most famous weather-forecasting rodent, also predicted an early spring. But a unanimous groundhog verdict was prevented when Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania saw his shadow.Folklore has it that if a groundhog sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, he'll flee to his burrow, heralding six more weeks of winter

It sure would be nice if they all could agree. However no matter what those furry little guys "predict" I'm sure that we're in for a nasty spring after the mild winter we've had.

Whatever.. on to more important things

Survivor starts tonight!!! woohoo!
