What to do?

Okay so I've settled down a bit now that I've gotten over the shock of Megan cutting all her hair off. We spent all day outside cleaning the yard. I got a really bad sunburn too.
see. Ouch ouch ouch. It's even more red then it looks on this shitty webcam. But I'm not worried. It will be gone in a day or so and I'll be nice and tanned. It's another beautiful day today. A bit windy and so far around 51F (11C) The yard work is almost done, we still have the front garden to work on.

Can you believe April is done? I can't. It's crazy. In 5 days my little man is turning 6. I can't believe that even more! He was all excited to have a birthday party. Then on Thursday he got an invitation from a friend at school. The first boy party he's been invited to. He was absolutely ecstatic. He didn't even get out of the school door and he wanted me to get the invitation out of his backpack. So I read it and sure enough.. May 5th. CRAP!!! that's Connor's birthday! So all ideas of a birthday party with school friends is out of the question. I'm not going to invite people and have them choose between Connor and this other boy. That would be mean. Then I thought.. I don't want him to go to this birthday party and the whole time keep mentioning that it was his birthday. The other boy's birthday was Thursday. Why they were waiting two weekends after for his party I don't know. So I'm torn as what to do. Connor would really like to go to the party, but he doesn't understand that he will still have a birthday. So I think what will happen is he'll go to the party, then afterward we'll go to Mandarin with Grandparents/Aunts/Uncles... and have a cake and presents for him after that. I think he'll be happy with that. I hope he'll be happy with that. What do you think?

Tomorrow Megan is having a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and Connor and I are going to a Literacy Night at his school. It's suppose to rain tomorrow. We have a busy couple of weekends coming up. Don't forget Mother's Day!!

Wow a whole week!

Thank you to the two of you who were kind enough to ask where I've been. It's nice to know I'm missed. Where have I been? Well the weather has warmed up so that means it was time to
Clean out the sheds and take out all the lawn furniture

And wash the car!
Then as soon as the weather turned gloomy and rainy again we were stuck indoors. And what happens when kids are stuck indoors after having so much fun outside?
You tell me!

Sunny Day

Today is the first sunny day that we've had in a very long time. I'm just about to go pick up Connor at school and I think we'll walk. Now that everyone is feeling much better. I don't want to see another drop of poop! I can handle the stuffy/runny noses and occasional coughs.

Maybe we'll wash the car when we get back. Some fresh air will do us all some good.

Hope you're having a bright and sunny day!

My poor poor Megans

I'm feeling much better today. However Megan sure isn't. It started on Tuesday night with the puking..{why does that always happen at night?} puke puke and more puke into Wednesday as seen in this photo. By Thursday she was okay, just a little stuffy nose and a small cough due to post nasal drip. Friday morning was the beginning of the lava poop hell. ALL day and night long.. I must have went through at least 30 pull ups.. Here we are Saturday afternoon and still with the diarrhea. I'm talking pure lava poops.. just like she use to have when she was nursing. I can handle the poops much better then the vomit. She also has a fever.. not a high one.. it's sticking around 99F and occasionally spiking around 101F {I'm too lazy to convert that into Celsius for you} I'm trying to stay away from the tylenol and let whatever it is she has run it's course. She's resting right now. And occasionally waking up complaining her tummy hurts again.

I've given her Children's Kaopectate after every bowel movement and it's not doing anything
I've given her pedialite in hopes to keep her from dehydrating
When going to bed I gave her Tylenol cold and cough to help her fever and her nose and cough

I know this is a virus.. my grandmother had it, my cousin had it, I have the stuffy nose and yesterday with chills and extreme exhaustion and thinking I wanted to die but my tummy stayed settled thank goodness! And well the rest of the city has it too. Any suggestions on what more I should do? Besides pray that Connor and Adam don't get it too who are currently spending the afternoon together at the movies seeing TMNT :)

UPDATE:
I called the after hours clinic last night, because I was reading this

Seek Care Immediately If...

  • The child's diarrhea or vomiting gets worse, there is blood in the diarrhea, or the vomit is bloody or green.
  • The child is not drinking enough fluids and has signs of water loss: sunken eyes, less urination, no tears when crying, dry mouth, unusual sleepiness or fussiness, extreme thirst.
  • The child has not urinated in quite a few hours.
  • A high temperature continues to climb.
and her diarrhea was getting worse, she was going every five minutes and it was now very green and had not urinated since the night before. So I was instructed to go to the ER. Of course after spending four hours there waiting. The doctor looks at her and says " she has viral gastroenteritis and she's not at the point where she needs IV fluids. Of course she's gone to the bathroom 5 times since we got to the hospital. And is cranky and wants to go home. Why anyone didn't tell me that there was nothing they could do to stop the poop I don't know. I knew she wasn't dehydrated that bad. Grrr. So 4 hours and $7.00 in parking later we come home. And head to the store to buy some more gatorade.

Note:

Please excuse Jennifer from blogging and or any other activities that require her to leave the comfort of the couch. She not only is sick herself, but also has a sick little girl to take care of.

Not quite Princess school....

Megan started Library club today. She loved it. Sang along, did the actions, watched the movie, and even raised her hand to answer questions. I'm so proud of her. We will be going every Tuesday morning for the next 7 weeks :) After leaving Library club she asked me to take her to her princess school. I told her once I figured out where Princess school was I'd bring her there. ahaha.

Thank you to everyone who's wished me well on the previous post. Just know that it has to do with money, and things are going better for us. It's been a long hard struggle but we've finally come to a point where we can move forward. Such a relief.

Did you watch Dancing with the stars last night? Did you laugh as hard as I did? Tonight I'm looking forward to American Idol... what will you be doing tonight?

Looking forward

There is light at the end of the tunnel
We will reach that light on Thursday
From then on things will be very different
And different in a good way

That in itself is a HUGE relief!

Good Friday

It's quiet here this morning.
The kids slept at their grandparents last night
Picked up my brother and sister -in-law at the airport last night
There is snow on the ground
I'm ready for the Easter bunny
I'm happy Lisi has been voted off she was annoying
I'm wishing they'd get new hosts for DWTS because these two are annoying
Have gotten in touch with many friends from my past
The internet is such a wonderful thing
Our Cape Cod fund is growing
Our savings account is growing
Our bank account is growing
Our debt is shrinking
This makes me a very happy girl
My skin is screaming for help
My hormones are all out of whack
I hope this will be fixed in a week or two
My house is and always will be a mess
It makes me feel loved when Megan cries for me when I'm not here
I see Connor growing before my very eyes and I'm afraid I'm going to miss it
I thank all of you who contacted me about Megan's "illness" she's doing better
I have heard of "imaginary friends" but not of "imaginary schools"?
Megan insists she goes to " Princess School"
I wish I could go to Princess school and learn all the wonderful things they teach there
Connor has entered the stage where he asks A LOT of questions
Did I mention there is SNOW on the ground
My neighbour is going to have a baby any day now
I'm searching for the perfect pair of slippers
I still need to make an appointment to get my pedicure and manicure
Even though I enjoy this quietness... it's such an odd feeling
I wish I knew someone to help us fix our CD player in our car
I have an aquarium that has been sitting there full of water with nothing but a plastic turtle in it
It's been like that for about 3 or 4 months
I'm patiently awaiting for Lost season three to arrive on DVD
I'm thinking we might watch seasons 1 and 2 again
I have my cousin Dalton to blame for this
I more then hate it when people call my house and don't leave a message on the machine
I'm going to get more coffee now

If you're one to celebrate Easter... have a happy one!
