Locks of Love..

Megan has decided she wants to cut her hair for locks of love. We're going to donate it to locks of love. I pulled it back, and braided it, and measured it. She has an inch to go yet. She's very excited about it, and of course when it happens I'll be sure to take pictures!

Right now I'm also growing out her bangs. I've always wanted her without bangs but just never had the patience to get there. I think we might get there this time, since she's been pretty good about keeping them clipped back.

Remember when she did this! and THIS! I have not cut her hair ( well except for very small trims and her bangs) since.

My little Pioneer...

Do you know hard it is to find clothes that somewhat resemble 1908. Geesh! Connor is going on a field trip tomorrow to an old school house to experience what it was like in 1908. He needs to dress appropriately and pack an appropriate lunch. So tin pail, homemade bread, no ziplocks, juice boxes, saran wrap, oranges or kiwi's...

So my grandmother made us some homemade bread ( lol no not in a bread machine) and she made a turkey ( not for the trip) but he'll use a few slices for his sandwich. Which I will wrap in a cloth, and I have a glass jam jar with a canning lid for his milk, and an apple.

His clothes won't be accurate, but they'll be close. Black pants and a white button shirt with suspenders and he'll tuck his pants into knee socks to look like knickers, and well he'll either wear his brown shoes with laces, or his black dress shoes that have velcro, which neither will be appropriate, but oh well it's the best I could do. Did they have rain boots back then? I don't think so lol too bad because it's rainy out.

I'm going to have to start to keep my eye out for a dress and boots and stuff for Megan when she gets to grade 3 lol.
