My Last Post

Of this year silly ;) I've been blogging for three years now and I have no intention of stopping now!

This year is quickly coming to an end. In the next five hours we will play games, eat yummy food, spend time with family. Possibly go to visit some friends. Come home and bring in the new year together. Depending on if Megan falls asleep or not then it will be the four of us. Connor had a nap this afternoon so I'm guessing he's going to make it until midnight.

2006 hasn't been the greatest year. But it hasn't been all that terrible for us either. Even though we've had our good share of frustrations with money, we've not done anything terribly exciting, nor have we accomplished very much. I can't remember when the last time I was this happy. I have a great husband and two beautiful children and we are happy.

2007 I'm hoping brings us more happiness. I know I'll be happier this year because I have made some new friends who I'm looking forward to meeting. I found some old friends and am very much looking forward to reconnecting with them. For the moment my family is healthy and I hope it stays that way. I'm turning 29 which will be my last year of my twenties and I plan on making the best of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all worried about entering my thirties in fact I'm looking forward to it. I see the New Year as a clean slate, fresh start and while that scares me a bit, I plan to make the best of it :)

So from our family to yours.... We would like to wish you

I'm just so blessed

To have such great friends. Beth is a very special friend. We've shared a lot over the past few years. She's always there for me when I need her. She's there when I need to talk, she's there for me when I need advice and she's always got the right words to help me out. We've shared laughter and tears. She's wonderful I tell ya. Now if only I could actually MEET her in PERSON ahaha! Today this arrived. Presents for my whole family... see how wonderful she is
Candles for Adam and me. We LOVE candles and they smell so soo soooo good! Chocolates for the kids me. Some yummy twizzlers that I am pretty sure we don't have here in Canada. Playing cards, lip gloss, pens and paper... there were some bracelets and another toy for Connor, but he's got them played with somewhere. I'm going to put the candles out for my party tomorrow and well.... hide the chocolates :)
Thank you so much!

Merry Christmas and best wishes to you and your family this New Year!

Shopping Day

The presents that needed returning or exchanging have been done. I was surprised that the mall wasn't overly packed. I would guess the lack of sales have something to do with that?

I was very excited to find Connor and Megan's 2006 son/daughter ornaments. We thought they didn't make them anymore. Sure enough they do and we got them for 50% off! woohoo

We also bought ER season 6 with the gift card from Adam's brother along a U2 cd with the gift card from my brother. Thanks brothers!

Now I have to get the house cleaned up for our party we're having on Saturday. What was I thinking having a holiday party AFTER Christmas!!

Tuesday, December 26, 2006

And just like that it's over

All the excitement, all the wonder of what Santa will bring... all the presents are opened, put together played with, and some even have found a place to be put away. Done.

With all the new toys and games the kids got for Christmas just yesterday, I still heard... " mommy what can I do". I would reply with, go play with your new piano, your new computer, your Lego's, your colouring book, your remote control car, your tea set, your dolly, your puzzle... GAH... 13 days left until school starts again.

I hope you all have a good holiday with your families. We had a nice Christmas. Filled with wonderful gifts... I got some lingerie, a skirt, a jogging suit, a black bra, a t-shirt and a few other things from Adam. He got clothes, and DVDs, and snacks from me. We got an amazing gift from his parents. A little card that said " wishing you a blessed Christmas... your IOU is paid in full" tears instantly filled both of our eyes. I have the best in laws EVER! We still owed them $400.00!!! it's not just a little IOU! we also got some sheets, and some ornaments, jammies, sweaters, socks, candles, movies, games... such wonderful gifts from both our parents.

Dinner was hectic at our house. There were A LOT of people here. It's crazy just how much our family has grown. 25 people at our house for Christmas dinner. And not everyone was here! It's just not that much fun. It's noisy, it's hot in here, it's listen to this one complain about that, and watch this one roll their eyes at them, and try and hear yourself think! Kids running here and there... presents tossed here and there. Adam and I and the kids snuck our dinner down in our apartment and enjoyed a quiet meal which was really nice.

Then we do it all over again New Years day!

I did this before, but thought we could all use a laugh for the holidays.. so I did it again.

Wash the kitchen floor

Green Christmas

Well... I thought I'd change the design around here. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and there is not a flake of snow on the ground or falling from the sky. And what's worse is that I can go outside without my coat. It's dark, it's gloomy, it's very windy, it sucks.

What colour is your Christmas?

The bestest of friends

I have the greatest friends.. and yet another one I have not even "met" yet.

I can't say enough good things about Angie... just go over to her place and find out for yourself just how wonderful she is.

The other day I received a beautiful Christmas card from her and today I find a cute little box on my porch.

Inside I found

yummy homemade jelly. Let me just tell you I LOVE homemade jelly!

I'm going to have some on my toast as soon as I finish up here :)

and to my surprise I also found
an adorable little Angel that Angie made herself. Made of Georgia cotton.

She is hanging on my tree and now I can think of my sweet sweet friend every year!

Thank you Angie, you certainly brightened my gloomy rainy day!

Wishing you and yours a very blessed Christmas.

What I'm thinking right now....

~Why are my gums swollen?
~Why do I never buy anything good to snack on?
~Is it bedtime yet?
~What should we buy with the $75.00 Canadian Tire gift certificate Adam got from work?
~Am I suppose to bring a snack to share with everyone tomorrow at the sing-a-long in Connor's class, or just something for our family?
~Why does my nose feel so raw inside, when I don't have a cold?
~What is this crazy fairy show the kids are watching?
~If I go have a shower right now, will the kids kill eachother while I'm in there?
~I'm a bit upset about a friend I thought was a friend
~I'm so excited that my good friend sent me something in the mail, and has been e-mailing and asking me if it's here yet.
~I really hope she likes what I sent her too :)
~I need a vacation
~Only 3 more days until Christmas Eve!
~Why is my hair falling out in clumps?
~Will the new pills my doctor put me on cause me any troubles
~I know I left something in the dash of my car, but I don't remember what it was
~I'm excited for another friend who just told me she's pregnant again
~I'm sad that I'm not pregnant again, and probably never will be
~My feet hurt
~How am I going to arrange my apartment so I can fit 10 adults and 12 kids for our Holiday Party?
~Only 21 days left until my birthday!!
~What in the world am I going to do with BOTH kids home ALL day for 16 days?

Another three days?!?

I use to post three times a day not one post ever three days!! I never thought I'd get into a "funk" like this. I love blogging. I won't ever quit, but I just have nothing to write about I guess.

Megan has taken over the computer playing Reader Rabbit and Teletubbies. And so I've been playing N64.

The weather here sucks. It's warm and green and just doesn't feel like Christmas at all. I have all the presents bought and wrapped. I've even sent some out in the post! I still want to get out shopping and get Adam something for Christmas ( and I think he for me as well)

Survivor is done. I was sad Ozzie didn't win. Damn Yul and his jibber jabbering ways!

As I was watching last night I had to watch the commercials too. And I just hate the way everything is... ooo buy this for this person and buy that for that person, and don't forget this and that and have to get this and that and on and on. To me... Christmas is about giving out of the goodness of your heart. Not because you have to, or are expected to. I hate all the hoopla about the whole thing. I just wish people could enjoy the season and be happy to give and share joy with others. There's been a lot of that going on in my house. Complaining that is. And so I guess I've been hiding out in my living room.

We did get quite the startle today. My Nanny came running in to my apartment today just balling her eyes out. I thought someone had died. She sobs " the doctor just called... {we've been waiting for test results from her biopsy} and our hearts stopped for a second. Then she says... Everything's okay. Dang woman! Don't do that to me. I knew everything was okay from the beginning. Don't scare me like that again!

Well... that's all I got for ya today. I'm off to play Donkey Kong!

We won!!

There was a Christmas Bazaar at school yesterday. I helped out and worked the Scooby Doo bean bag game. I must say the kids in that school are all so great. They're all polite and well behaved, even when they are all hyped up on excitement and sugar. It was fun

The best part though, was winning third prize of the raffle tickets $200.00, a kite, and a princess puzzle!

After the bazaar, we went to Adam's parents church for a pot luck dinner, that was fun and yummy. The kids loved it!

Christmas Pictures

We finally got a chance to take the kids to see Santa today! Just as they were taking the picture, Megan decided she was scared. She sat there long enough to tell Santa what she wanted "a bear". And that was it. She wanted down. Connor didn't want to leave Santa. He sat there and just wanted to chat. He told him he wanted a "bedspread, and a rocking horse" He also told Santa he's been doing good in school. Santa had offered him a candy cane, but no... he still wanted to sit and talk. After the second time Santa offered the candy cane then Connor decided it was okay to go now.

The other night... I decided to try and take some pictures of them infront of the tree. Here is what I ended up with...

Lists and Meme's

And because I'm procrastinating I did some meme's

Hot chocolate or eggnog?
Hot chocolate, but I like eggnog too, just a little

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
He wraps and wraps and wraps...

Colored lights on your tree/house or white?
Because Adam likes coloured lights and a star, and I like all white lights and an angel, we rotate every year. And we put whatever we can outside
on the house.

Do you hang mistletoe?
If I had some to hang I would.

When do you put up decorations?
Usually around the middle of November, but we were late this year and got them up Dec.2nd

What does your favorite Christmas meal include?
I'm happy with whatever anyone makes, I'm more happy to have the sweets.

Favorite Christmas memory from childhood?
One year Santa came to our house. Neither my mom nor dad knew who it was... it was the REAL Santa! that and the year I got my Cabbage Patch Kid

How and when did you learn the truth about Santa?
Well I still believe in Santa ( SHUT UP) I do... but when I was about 14 maybe... My mom just gave up pretending.

Do you open a gift on Christmas eve?
Since I have been with Adam so for 13 years now. We do our gift opening on Christmas eve with his family, which is also his mom's birthday
Then Christmas morning we have Christmas with the now four of us and then my mom.

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
As neatly as I can. I like everything to be set just so. Our ornaments are all keepsakes from the years growing up, as well as a few given to us
through out the years.

Snow! Love it or leave it?
LOVE IT... where is it???

Can you ice skate?
I'm actually a very good ice skater... or use to be.. Haven't been on the ice since having kids.

Do you remember your favorite gift?
The first year Adam and I spent Christmas together he bought me a pair of earrings and made me a mixed cassette tape

What's the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Not complaining about the money, the shopping, the "hassle" I love to give gifts more then get them, however I enjoy getting them too
I like the cozy feeling of candles burning, and the tree lights on, hot chocolate and snow, the birth of Christ and teaching my children all
about that. I love being with friends and family ( when they're not pissing me off) How about we just say every single little detail about
Christmas is important to me.

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
Meat pies my Nanny and Papa make and having that for breakfast.

What tops your tree?
Again, one year a coloured star, and then the next year an angel dressed in white holding white lights

Gift giving

We were the gift giving family at church today. All that means is that after the homily the four of us brought up the wine and the communion and such. As we were getting ready, Megan kept digging in to the communion, she put one in her mouth! We made it to the alter without any other mishaps. But GEEZE!!! Afterwards Connor's teacher who happen to be sitting in the pew beside us came and gave Connor a high five.

We got a few more christmas presents bought this weekend, sadly though, we now have no money for two weeks. And that REALLY REALLY sucks.

Oh and look at this...

Is that a promise?

Wishing I could turn back time

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to do this... but here are my reasons why I would like to go back in time and do things differently. Lets see how far back do I really want to go.

Although it would be cool to see what the world was like before I was even born, I think I'll go back to:

When I was about 8 years old, I wouldn't have shaved my eyebrows off
When I was about 9 or 10 and not leave my poor rabbit outside and feed it more... poor bunopski...
When I was 11 I wouldn't have started smoking
When I was 12 I'd like to remember what it was like to be 12? for some unknown reason I don't
When I was 13, I'd like to make different choices involving a boy (not necassarily what, just when)
When I was 14 I'd choose different friends
When I was 15 I'd like to stop a few things from happening
When I was 16 I wouldn't have taken my mother's car

I'd like to go back to 1999 and get a videographer for our wedding
I'd also like to save some money instead of spend it the way I did
In the year 2000-2001 I'd like to stop someone from doing something they did
I'd like to go back to having Connor and choose NOT to have that epidural
I'd like to go back to being pregnant with my other baby and see if there was anything that could have been done
I'd like to go back to just after having Megan and deal with my emotions better

I'd like to go back to yesterday and dust my computer before it blew up
I'd like to go back to this morning, and not spend as much as I did at costco(although we will have plenty to eat)
I'd like to go back to while I was packaging all the meat we ate and NOT kink my neck and suffer all night
I'd like to go back to the start of the two hours I spent on the phone with some jerkoff tech guy and tell him to go fly a kite, cause he wasted two hours of my time and energy. Only to tell me I need a new LAN card

So... what do you want to go back in time and do?
