So Frustrating

First.... I'm frustrated with is this red spot on my baby girls face. She got this in October and has been there ever since. It flares up and settles down, and it has spread since October. I've been to the dermatologist and he says it's "eczema" gave me some creams and said it would go away. Which it has not. When it spread I called them back and the nurse there told me * as if I didn't know* what to be doing. I assured her that was what I was doing and it spread. She had the nerve to tell me and I quote " She's going to have all sorts of things.. it's something she was born to have"
I'm sorry? No I do not think so. She does not have to live like this.

Well.. last week.. Megan had conjunctivitis. * yellow gunk* coming out of her eyes. We're sure it was a sinus infection and was given antibiotics for her eyes as well as oral antibiotics. It cleared up fine. Yesterday I notice she has a rash on her tummy of what looks like hives.

Today. her tummy is covered in a rash. I don't think it's an allergic reaction to the medicine. Because she has had this rash before. Last summer. I just put some hydracortizone cream on it and it went away.

Well.. I've had enough. I want to know why she's getting this. Is she allergic to something? I have suspicions that she's allergic to something in barbecue sauce. Because when she was smaller and ate it, she broke out in a red rash on her face.
Anyways.... what pisses me off even more, is that when I NEED my doctor she's not available. GRRRRR. **click photos for larger view**

Five things you don't know.... about me

I have taken up the challenge offered by Lisa to complete this meme. I have to list five things about me that I haven't ever revealed in my blog. Here are the rules: 1. Get tagged 2. List five things that have not been revealed on your blog 3. Tag five others.

Here goes..

1. Approximately 5 years ago my marriage nearly ended.. don't ask me why though I won't talk about it.

2. I tried out for the cheer leading squad when I was in high school. I just about made it too, but my nerves got the best of me in the final try out.

3. I weigh 235lbs right now. Before I had kids I was around 130lbs

4. When I was younger I shaved off my eyebrows... I know.I know... what an idiot.

5. I have a thing about people, I think they talk about me behind my back, I think they lie to me, I think they pretend to be my friend when really they're not.

I'm not sure If I've revealed any of this before... but there you have it.

now I tag
1. Dawn
2. Chelsea
3. Beth
4. Mamalife Lisa
5. Stacey

and if anyone else decides to go along with it, let me know!

Raise of hands

How many wives can say they've walked into the laundry room to find their husband vacuuming the washer?

The Stars

No I don't mean like Brad Pitt * but uh... yum!!** I'm actually talking about the stars, up in the sky. I don't care if you believe in astrology or not. I do. I don't live by it. I don't stay home if they tell me it's an accident prone day and to stay indoors. Or I don't go looking for a fight if it says I'm particularly angsty. I'm just saying it's accurate about 99% of the time.
This is what mine says today:
"Although frustrations linger from yesterday's opposition between red-hot Mars and cold Saturn, the recovery time may be quite rapid. The Moon's entry into flighty Gemini helps to sever our attachments to unproductive negative emotions. Additionally, Mars forms a supportive sextile with confident Jupiter, giving us an immediate way to channel energy that was previously blocked. Changing our attitude can quickly transform a challenge to our advantage."

I have been feeling negative, I've been swamped with too many things to have to think about, I don't like making decisions where I don't know what the outcome will be. Then there's a million other things on top of that that I have to do as well. I've had a headache now for a good three days and it's those damn tension headaches that nothing helps to relieve. Don't ask me to explain what they are though. Because I wouldn't be able to tell you. I do try to live in the moment, complete one thing at a time, but that's just the thing. There is nothing I can do about many of the things floating in my head. I think I need a pensieve. Anyone know where I can get one?

Well.. I'm off to call the doctor. I think Megan is getting sick and I want to catch whatever it is she might have (I think it has to do with her spots on her cheek, but everyone thinks I'm crazy) before it gets bad. And I have to do something about my pills, because having a period for two weeks is just nonsense. Then I have to go to the bank and then grocery shopping, pick up Connor from school, clean the house, make dinner, clean up again. Then I think all my energy will be gone and I'll just flake out on the couch. Happy Friday Everyone!

Just a thought

You do your best to escape. Yet things still manage to sneak inside. It's amazing really, how much weight ones shoulders can actually hold. How many thoughts can really fit inside of your mind. And quite interesting how each of these things contribute to some other problem. Eventually you just end up tired... frustrated... and then the next thing comes along and you're left trying to deal with that and everything just gets jumbled up. It's a vicious circle is what it is.

First day of SPRING!!

Happy First day of SPRING.
The Sun is shining and the days are longer then the nights
so much for getting more sleep!

And I I'd like to wish Esther (and anyone else in that part of the world) a happy first day of AUTUMN!

Fun Fact: How much rain water is in a thunderstorm cloud?

There can be as much as 150-thousand tons of water inside a cumulonimbus cloud. That’s enough to fill a pond a mile long, 300 feet wide and five feet deep

St. Patricks day/ storms

All that snow we had melted and it was green here. For a whole week! Damn I knew I should have taken a picture. anyways. We always have a St. Paddy's day storm. Even if it was 59F (15C) here the other day we knew the snow has not left for the season yet. It started snowing yesterday and what's interesting is that three years ago. While I was in the hospital. Adam and I sat and watched out the window the snow falling and falling. We got a LOT of snow then. It was incredible how fast it came. And here it is three years later snowing like crazy. There is already about 3 inches out there. And to think the other day I was out in a T-shirt.

Today's St. Patricks Day. It also would have been my Great Granny's 87th birthday, however she has not been with us for many years. We don't really celebrate St.Patricks day.. even though I am Irish. I don't drink so we won't be partying. But I will wear green!

How do you celebrate St. Patricks Day?

Another one growing up too fast

Connor lost his first tooth today! He was so excited. It's been loose for very long time. Every day he'd ask or I would, to see how it's doing and I'd give it a little wiggle. Sure enough tonight while showing his Uncle how loose it was I wiggled it right out of his mouth. He was so excited.
He didn't cry or even freak out over the blood or the fact that he now had a big space there! He wanted to wash the tooth so it was nice and shiny for the tooth fairy and he put it in his special pewter tooth container. After putting him to bed tonight he kept getting up, to check to see if any bad fairy's came and took his tooth. I told him to go to sleep and there is only one tooth fairy and I promised him that she was very good and would leave him some money if he'd go to sleep. After putting him to bed for the fourth time I think he finally fell asleep. The tooth fairy made him a very nice certificate and will probably leave him a dollar. And I'm going to have to get use to seeing this toothless smile :)

For My Daughter

I loved you before I met you. I felt your warmth as I know you felt mine. You brought more joy to my life then you could possibly imagine. Knowing who you were before you arrived, I got to know you quite well. You didn't like to sleep much, and you were always fussy during car rides. You recognized the sound of your daddy and your brother and were always happy when they were around. You sensed my fears and would always remind me that you were there. Sure sometimes it was a jab to my bladder or a kick in the ribs. But that's okay. The weeks leading to your arrival was quite the challenge. Walking was never more difficult, sitting was near impossible, standing was impossible. But we made it and you arrived safely

You were welcomed into our family before you were here, but once you were was all the more fun. You had a big brother to play with you. A daddy that was overjoyed to hold you, a mommy who wouldn't put you down no matter how much it hurt. You have brought us all such happiness and love. Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes a head full of brown hair with blond highlights and a frightening resemblance of your brother. You put your trust in us instantly, knowing we would take good care of you. At times I wish I had your confidence. But we made it.

The first year with you was quite the adventure! You were such a good baby, you were so sweet and innocent and loving. You had the brightest smiles and the most incredible expressions. Your snuggles and hugs and kisses were such a treat each day. You learned real quick how to deal with your brother, who was always so happy when you were around. With his hugs and kisses and your near trips to the ER, you handled yourself just fine. You see boys just aren't as smart as us girls ;) By nine months old you knew how to handle him. You were up and walking and sometimes running, so by one you were the most fun to keep up with. We enjoyed every day you showed us who you were. A real daredevil at her best. Climbing and running were your real tests you threw at us.
And with such an angelic face to warm our hearts

The minute you were born we knew you were the princess. Your second year you played the roll quite well. You made sure we remembered that every single day. With your demanding ways you kept us on our feet. But at the same time you were still the sweetest girl in all the lands. You really grew into a beautiful smart girl, and each day you expressed who you really are. But what warmed my heart the most is that you were always still the snuggly little bug that I love. You grew so much in your second year. So smart, so bright so full of life. And such a little girl. You love dancing and nail polish and your love for shoes tells me I'm in trouble when you reach your teen years.
You have a smile that brightens my day, you have such a big heart and I love you very much

Happy 3rd Birthday
I love you

Mommy

Quiet at last

The kids are gone to Grandma and Grandpa's for a two night sleep over. Adam is gone to work and I'm sitting here with a killer headache and crampy legs, feet and tummy. But it's quiet. I might go soak in a nice hot bath and enjoy the silence.

Weekends to begin the week

We left our house at 9am and arrived at our friends place by 11am. Why do all our friends have to live so far away? After saying quick hello's and taking a potty break we all loaded up in our cars and headed to a market. Full of yummy foods to look at, and crafts and stuff to buy. I would have really liked to buy this Strawberry Shortcake quilt I saw, however not for $85.00 handmade or not that's too much for me. We sat in a crowded picnic table and had french fries and then continued on. Megan drove me absolutely nuts. She would not hold my hand. Luckily she would hold my friends hand and I think we did okay watching the four kids in the very crowded I'm talking shoulder to shoulder type crowd.

After looking around we went back to their place where the dad's watch some TV, the kids played and the mom's chatted over looking at pictures. We had a very yummy pizza for dinner and I made a yummy dessert.

Megan took baby steps to being in the same room with a very large dog and a cat. I thank my friends for being so helpful with her. Megan got enough courage to even pet the dog and the cat a few times. She kept hiding and saying " No doggy eat me" hehe.

After a long day the kids started getting cranky and so it was time for us to move on. We had other friends to visit as well, and I was worried it would not go so well with two very tired kids. But we got to S&L's and their kids were still up and they had a very fun time playing xbox and a a game. We talked and S's mom and dad came to visit as well as her brother who we've not seen in many years. It was a nice time. The kids fell asleep and Adam had about 5 too many beers. We didn't get much sleep at all and this morning of course Adam was hurtin. S & L made a wonderful breakfast and then we were on our way. I have lots of pictures, but no permission to put them up here. so you're outta luck. I do however have a few with just my kids in them and if you'd like to see those you can click here :)

We arrived home around 2pm and were amazed at how much snow had melted in just one day. The clocks have all jumped ahead an hour and I'm very tired. The kids are still full of energy. Figures they got enough sleep.

Tomorrow is the beginning of March Break!! and Megan's birthday is in 4 days!

Grad photos

I can not believe that in only four months Connor will be graduating Senior Kindergarten and preparing for Grade 1... how in the world did that happen? It seems like just last week I was all frantic about him starting JK!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but SK graduation use to consist of a little diploma probably made by the teacher and maybe a little ceremony/party? Well times have changed we now get graduation photos as well!!

How am I suppose to decide on only one image? And of course they don't give you the option to buy only one photo. You HAVE to buy a full package if you want a picture, let alone pictures to give to grandparents. And they're not cheap either 54.00 later I have narrowed it down to two poses image two and three.

Did I mention we already have fall school pictures and then again in the spring? Crazy.

Snoozy Sundays

We had company over this afternoon. It really is a special thing when cousins can also be some of your closest friends. These cousins also have children our kids ages, which is fun for everyone. The down side is they live an hour away. So we don't get to see them all that often. While yes an hour isn't far at all, it's just not a drop in for a coffee or lets go shopping or play at the park sort of visit. It's pack up three kids or two in our case, don't forget diaper bags, drinks, changes of clothes, this and that and whatever, load into the car (pray your car makes it) drive for an hour and a bit and depending on traffic two hours...visit, play, chat, eat and then head back home.

It would be really really nice to have more time, in today's case Adam had to go to work early, the kids needed naps, and it's a school night. But despite all of that we really had a nice time. We are happy that our kids are getting to know each other and becoming friends, we're happy to spend some time with people we love, and are grateful for the things that they do for/with us. We look forward to the visits, and are really looking forward to this summer when our visit will turn into a weekend camping trip.

Now Adam has left for work, the kids are quietly watching TV and I'm back in my p.j's having a lazy Sunday afternoon. How is your Sunday being spent?
